I had a fish finger sandwich for lunch, and not because some Guardian link told me to.
Two sticks were the Young’s battered ones, and two were Tesco breaded fish fingers. Then smothered in ketchup. Boodiful.

Morning!
Builders arrived so early in the morning that I was sure that they were still operating on British Summer Time but since they had their money and we weren't open to suggestions for further improvements (there comes a point where they might as well move in) they have now forsaken us.
They've left a certain amount of mess behind that I'll probably have to clear up myself, but at the moment I don't care about appearances.
Sandwich chat: a few weeks ago I was craving something that at first I couldn't quite put my finger on until I realised that it was the Waitrose Cheddar & Celery sandwich that I used to buy for my al desko lunch at work. I can't be bovvered to recreate this at home but the filling is high on my favourite sandwich list.
Other favourites, in no particular order: - egg mayo & cress - pastrami & Emmental with gherkin (but no sauerkraut. Yes, I'm a sauerkrautphobic Kraut) - BLT - goat cheese, tomato & pickle - ham, mustard, cucumber & mayo
In other words, I tend to have a salad component in my sandwiches. Looks appetising and is a good excuse for the rest of the sandwich being totally unhealthy.
- once-a-year bonus sandwich: Xmas inspired number with chicken/turkey, stuffing, mayo & cranberry sauce

Actually, it just occurred to me that if I had no care in the world about calories or cholesterol I'd want a Philly steak sandwich because no one does dirty tasty food like the Yanks.

It is mildly irritating to realise that though you pride yourself on being an understanding and caring person: you can still be a dick.

That said, this is a sweet, interesting and educational video.
Cynics, for once in your life hold fire.

Felice I watched the first 31 seconds of that in the hope it was something funny but it really was some Japanese lady droning on about England.

I did wonder, for a moment, if it was provided in partnership with the British Frozen Food Federation.

I think it spoke to itself, and doesn't really need any cynical comment on it.

Once again BabyF makes a good case for the introduction of murder hornets to England.

Also possible that Shizuka is one of Dominic Cummings's weirdos and misfits.

did you finish it? All that walking around and the plot was just bollocks.
To show I'm not being a stick in the mud, I did like the other walking simulator, Virginia.

I haven't played it, but I'm definitely with Danky on this one.
I mean, I realise that looks wrong, but also the game looks crap and I didn't like Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. I really don't need to play it to have a strong and correct opinion about it; in fact, not having played it helps.

I havent played Firewatch either. I did play everyone's gone to the rapture and that was certainly low level bananas for me, Clive.

Dinner/tea update. Co-op ready meal Stew and Dumplings. £2.60 or 2 for £4.50. So I ate 2 to save money as need to replenish the coffers following the Newboilergate fiasco.

I did finish it! Loved it.
Also quite liked What Became of Edith Finch.
Did not like Everybody's gone to the Rapture. The walking was too slow. Also, it was set in Shropshire. Shropshire!!
I started Virginia but did not get far because I lack commitment.
Full disclosure: in real life I quite like walking as a form of transport and relaxation.

Although I own Firewatch I haven't played it. Instead I watched it being played on social distancing stream. I enjoyed it a lot.
Yesterday's social distancing stream game (1 hour earlier than usual because in the US summer time only ends next Sunday) was Minit, clever little game that can be a bit obscure in places.
Dinner: Black Farmer jerk pork sausages, parmesan potato mash (heavy on the garlic, so no vampires tonight), gigantes beans, fried egg, South African red.

Earlier I was thinking about winter. I think the clocks going back brought this on. A proper thundersnowbastard with piles of deep snow would be ace whilst wfh. Loads of sledging possiblilities. Snowman building. The works.

Actually not every word. Substitute "quite" for "really" re. Edith Finch.
I'm marking your post down one point for that.
