Time for the ultra* nerds to tell me how I should have selected different components etc. There are practical reasons that I went with the attached spec. Newcomp 1.pdf (65.49 KB) It's pretty obvious that it's going to be weeks before some components will be available; and the greater the delay the more likely it is that other components will evaporate. As I have been speccing stuff with PC Specialist (has to be them - Overclockers and Quiet PC* don't allow you to add a sound card) so components jump to on order or pre-order. So the spec can be upgraded once the insanity of current supply eases. (and I've learnt the hard way that third party sellers on Amazon are happy to pass off refurbs and seconds as new kit.) The only item that is awaiting stock is the 10GB NVIDIA GEFORCE RTX 3080 which may knock back delivery until after Xmas. Here's the case - it's larger than my Antec 902 Gaming Case**! *Quiet PC mystify me, as their configurator doesn't allow you to add a sound card to the build. Given that their niche market should be audiophiles and audio creators this is insane! **I love Antec cases; if I could have had the 902 again I would've done so - I've only heard the fans AT ALL 3x in ?3-4 years! |

Chumbles That is a beast, 4xStorage 3 of which are 2TB SSDs! I wondered why you had so many bays. I got mine from PC Specialist and they were good before and after delivery. I will now go on their site and do some fantasy building whilst knowing what I have now is totally fine for my requirements and will be for a while.

Dietician prescribed lunch: 3 crumbled oatmeal biscuits, 6 peach slices, a full fat yoghurt overall and bites of a Magnum ice cream, whilst standing up... Every.day. I played Player Unknown's Battlegrounds the other day. I liked it, a lot.
Ten minutes walking around with a friend, rootling about in old derelict houses. Then - when you get killed, that's it. No endless re-spawning. Genuine peril.
Good game.
That is my games chat...
It's a bit like golf. A nice walk in the country.

Hey wimps and nerds. I went full George Washington and chopped some firewood earlier. I made some big bits and some smaller bits, using a sort of bladed hammer thing called an axe.

I am receiving excited texts from Argos telling me my ps5 will be delivered on launch day.
I've ordered Godfall today on disc.
Tomorrow I will buy psn vouchers from Shop To to get Demon's Souls.
I am going to get an external HD as well for PS4 games
900 GB of SSD is tiny with 100 GB games.
It's all very exciting.
