So the tiny PC I now have can't play CP2077, obvs, but I'm now looking at Stadia, the alternative is a PS4 Pro version but as Pref.Mam. is working in the room that may not be ideal.
Currently on a 1 month free trial then a £8.99 sub, though you can still play the game if you don't subscribe just at 1080p, which is fine for me also there's a £10 off voucher.
Currently watched load of videos about it running on Stadia.

Felice. Look at the Nvidia option instead. You buy the game on steam or epic and stream it. That way you can install on the new pc when it arrives. www.nvidia.com/en-gb/geforce-now/games/{Edit} Sorry - gog or steam. Not epic. They have a free tier on Nvidia so you can try it out with a game you own.

Good call, I'll look into it, thanks. <edit>A quick look it seems the free edition only allows 1 hour sessions, will need to double check that.

It is not an Impreza.
Anyway, I think I've got to the bottom of my TV woes. I don't want to get too technical on you, but in the trade we refer to it as a 'duff remote'.

Have you tried putting the batteries in?
And the right way round.
Also sometimes it's possible to press a button that changes the remote to a different setting without it being obvious what has happened. I had a receiver you could set to zone 2 (which had no speakers attached) but couldn't see it was in zone 2 mode. Then you couldn't change any settings on the sound or anything for zone 1. It took me ages to work out what had happened the first time I did it.

I have so many cables and adapters because they "might be useful". When I need one, I can't remember if I have got it or not. I search and the required item is shifted by my vizier* into a pocket universe for just long enough for it to be too late for me to cancel the order. I call this kippling and I have been kippled by my vizier so often I am no longer surprised. *I didn't realise that I had a vizier until Melvazord jogged my elbow...

I've got it working!
I won't bore you with the details, but it involved turning it off at the mains, having a stress fag, and turning it on again. Hey presto "remote synched to TV".
Soundbar? No, not yet - but it will be mine. *rubs hands together*

Mine does.* *You do realise that we're all sending you off on wild goose chases, and laughing our arses off Seriously (snigger) these guys are pretty good

I have some FireWire cables lying around.
Just in case I need to ever plug in my 5GB iPod.
Nvidia GeoForce - I subscribe to this to play TableTop Simulator- but even hardwired to the router there are times when it tells me my connection isn’t good enough to stream.
I went for it as an option to stall my need to upgrade my Mac. I was going to spend £300 on an eGPU but went with this instead.

Switching it off and on AT THE MAINS would've been a gamechanger. I'm still a tit though, some things never change.
Now for that soundbar..

Yes Felice Landry the free tier is only hour slots. But if you buy it on stadia you can only play it on stadia. But if you buy it for GeForce you've bought it once. When you get a sweet rig are you going to want to stream it? The paid GeForce is 4.99 a month or £25 for 6 months both with raytracing. Anyway. Food for thought.

I've never had problems with GeForce Now wired or wireless. I get smaller ping playing apex on it than I do from it installed on my pc. But you can try the free version with a game you own in steam etc to see how it works for you.

All good points and tbh rather too sensible. I'm aiming for March for the new rig, so the price difference would be £40 on Stadia vs £50 + 4 x £5 = £70, so £30 which I easily waste on other things anyway. Off to test GeForce Now now.
