I'd like to see the FBI face off against the National Guard on the Mall. Perhaps the ATF could get involved. Snipers at the Lincoln Memorial.

I'm a bit disappointed Trump hasn't gone out all guns blazing. I was hoping maga suicide vest. But didn't go off.

Hello.
Thank you all very much for all the messages of sympathy and condolences. They have brought me enormous comfort and helped me getting through the day. Also the unexpected bin puns.
After my father died my mother descended into a deep hole of grief and depression for many years that she's still not completely climbed out of. I'm determined not to let the same thing happen to me, it is not what the PM had wanted. So even if I'm still crying while I'm writing this, please know how essential you are in helping me to cope with the loss and taking my mind off things that it is better not to dwell on.
I spent the night from Monday to Tuesday - a sleepless night, it has to be said, and not because the bed wasn't comfortable - and most of yesterday at the grandchildren's new house. Having four children vying for my attention and - in the case of the twins - constantly climbing over me made it impossible to feel miserable and served as a constant reminder how life goes on. It seemed like a frivolity at the time, but one thing I grabbed from the empty house in Birmingham, besides a change of clothing so that the clothes I had worn in the hospital could be put in the wash immediately, was the Switch, but then I ended up playing a lot of Animal Crossing with my eldest granddaughter.
I returned to Birmingham yesterday evening by train, but the journey home turned out to be f*cking aggravating. At first everything was fine; people were wearing masks properly and leaving plenty of space between each other in the mainly empty train carriage. At one point there was even a bloke going around who was cleaning all the surfaces. But after a while more people joined who were either not wearing the face mask properly (leaving the nose uncovered or simply draped around the chin) or no mask at all, while also squeezing past people in the aisle, sitting too close together and/or talking loudly on the phone. For the last stretch of the journey a woman gabbing on her phone and without a facemask chose to sit in the seat directly behind me. Train staff were nowhere to be seen. I hate creating a scene (a murder scene in this case), but I had difficulties restraining myself. These covidiots were all young people; older people were nowhere to be seen. Having arrived at Birmingham I was approached by a bloke who obviously thought I was a soft target for extracting some money. He had a facemask dangling under his chin and was getting far too close. I cut off his bullcr*p excuse for wanting money by barking at him that my husband had just died of Covid and that he needs to wear the f*cking mask properly. He sheepishly mumbled "I'm sorry" and shoved the mask up his face, though probably not for very long.
If I come down with Covid (which, frankly, I don't mind right at the moment) it won't be because I had been to the hospital (which, we have been told, is now almost certainly Covid-free again) where we took every precaution during our stay and putting our clothes in the wash, having a shower and cleaning the car as we got home. It will be because of these thoughtless, uncaring cnuts. I'm sure that it's the same on public transport up and down the country.
Just now I'm watching the BBC's coverage of Biden's inauguration ceremony on the other tab. Earlier the absurd spectacle of the Mango Mussolini receiving a gun salute, giving a speech and then walking off to the tune of YMCA (will he ever listen to they lyrics?) made me snort with laughter. Particularly when he awkwardly tried to half-hug, half-kiss his two adult sons. Now that shower has left Air Force One, none of them wearing masks, naturally. Good riddance. I don't envy the plane staff, who will have to deep-clean and turn the plane around to Washington in record time. I just wish my Pref.Mam. had been here to watch it with me.

I'd like to see a historically accurate recreation of HMS Erebus sail up the Potomac and assail the Capitol Building. Only with fireworks though. In the spirit of fun.

There should be a ceremonial plucking of the nuclear codes card from Donald Trump's hand. Then a kick in the seat of the pants.

I was going to like your post, but I don't like the bad business you're having to deal with - in a big sense, and also with the clowns on the train ...
I did like 'Mango Mussolini'.

TV: I have been watching the first 2 episodes of Lost Girl on Amazon Prime. Definitely 4* imdb 7.7... you youngsters have probably seen it. Books: Suckered myself into listening to Naomi Novik's Temeraire series ... "Naomi Novik’s stunning series of novels follow the global adventures of Captain William Laurence and his fighting dragon Temeraire as they are thrown together to fight for Britain during the turbulent time of the Napoleonic Wars." I've just started book 2 "The Throne of Jade"; it is better listened to than read. First go round with Temeraire in paperback I unconsciously kept comparing it to Patrick O'Brian, which is really unfair as the Aubrey/Maturin series is a nonpareil. Games: I find that I want to play games I can't - so many require a keyboard - NP2 remains my primary game with 3 variants of Diplomacy where too many people know my record and kill me off as fast as they can. AoW3 remains my favourite, but I ache to play Baldur's Gate 3...

I had hoped to be watching the eviction of Donald Trump from the Whitehouse, filmed in the same fashion as the arrest of O.J. Simpson.

Think what would Sargon The Great do? Once you've attacked the neighbours you can then decide what to do.
All the best.

Chumbles why aren't you playing Baldur's Gate 3? I think he has problems with using a keyboard, I played it before my PC blew up and think you can get away with just using a mouse. The only key I remember using is the one to highlight stuff you can interact with, which is not vital just time saving.

Thinking about that, Chumbles I'm happy to share my Steam library with you, so you can try it as I bought the early access version of BG3, PM if you want in. <edit>It means designating Chumbles as "family" but I think I can live with that.

Good morning, Joey B's inauguration was dull. You'd think after being alive for 200 years he might have learned a joke or two.

Evening all,
Binblog. Amipal is very good at cheering up the occasion.
Amifact - he visits children's hospitals and discusses his concerns with a neighbour's drop kerb application. Everyone is happy. He doesn't know it's a kiddy's hospital though.
Baldur's Gate 3. Was up for this until I found out it wasn't the full game. Can't wait till 2028 when I get round to playing it.
Graunblog. It's a dire place. Double standards aplenty.

Bookblog: I finished Ender's Game. Putting the racist bits aside it's a really good book.
Filmblog: having finished reading the book Ender's Game, I decided to watch the film Ender's Game, which I believe is based on the book Ender's Game. I fell asleep though, so I don't know if it has any racist bits in it.
No games.
