Dr Wolf comments on your moves and says things like 'Easy now', or 'That's good - develop the centre'. Eventually he drops a Jimmy Wales on you and asks you for money, but it's fine. He's not 'in your face' about it.

Morning all!
One small large glass of port for BDT last night. Feeling tremendous this morning.
Because I hate myself, I gave the Balan Wonderworld demo a try. Whoever is responsible for that needs to be apprehended as soon as possible. Its honestly worth a look if you want to see something truly awful. In 4K on the PS5 its especially stark.

The last time I played chess an 11yr old beat me in about 4 moves and looked horrified I'd fell for the {insert famous chess opening here}

This is pretty much my plan for tonight. Except it will be Smash* and chicken sausages with a medley of veg. I will probably insult a friend on the phone, not watch footy and drink cheap cider instead.
*I found the Smash in the back of a cupboard yesterday. It was an emotional moment.
Smash gets an unfair rap. Butter makes the mash. It doesn't matter, really, where the potato mass comes from. This is all sorts of wrong. |

I feel like I've heard the name 'Charles Wolf' before. But then maybe I've been confusing him with the former Liberian politician and convicted war criminal, Charles Taylor.

The beauty of Smash is that you can reconstitute the potato with milk instead of water. Potato Plus. I haven't eaten Smash in a long time but it does have positives. |

Eel chat: I've always liked eels as I grew up surrounding by a nature park full of shallow lakes and streams. As a boy I would shine torches at night into the lakes and watch the eels swarm attracted to the light. We used to plunder the eel nets put down everywhere to play with the huge eels and pike that would be in there.
There are far less eels about these days sadly.

The football fans on here might be interested in the 'Undr The Cosh' podcast (yes, that's how they spell it).
Very honest interviews with ex pros, bit 'Laaads' at times but very revealing. As a Burnley fan the stories Robbie Blake has about Stan Ternant are frightening.

I’m flummoxed by this.
The only place I’ve seen chicken sausages was at a breakfast bar at a hotel in Hong Kong. White, pallid things they were. Utterly unappetising.
