Hi, Binged 4 eps in a row to finish off Engrenages 8 last night. Great show, I'll miss it but glad they finished it well. My body feels like it has been run over by a large truck and has done since I put together 2 Ikea beds at the weekend. The lack of any exercise during lockdown seems to have taken its toll. Sustained effort at ground level no longer possible for me at 6'2 without stretching and using muscles that dont exist anymore. Plus lifting 5000 boxes up and down stairs. Weather in Edinburgh, crap. Sleety rain and windy. Only got out of bed because I had to.

I am not drawing any conclusions from this. The obvious conclusion is we played Fortnite badly until late (also starting late) while chewing over the aftermath of the latest very disappointing Birmingham result. It is also the correct conclusion.

We're only in episode 5. Nae spoilers!
Shenguin in the best tradition of plagerism taking his source material and just changing it *just* enough to sound like his own. I'm glad they didn't have the software checking for it when I was a student.

hello...
Are you ok?
I played ... nothing last night, other than a game on a chess app in which you have to hit all the squares mentioned in a set period of time. It says it's aimed at improving your chess 'vision'. It's just a kind of Whack-a-Mole.
I also watched Waterworld.

Morning.
Feeling and looking shabby today.
I watched Le Mans on iPlayer, played some games and drank too much, too late. I think I might have stunk out the Jukebox as well.
Downloading Gears 5 and Resident Evil on the Xbox.

I don't believe sweets have ever been called candy, on these Great British isles.
I might have to feed this foward to Keir Starmer: An item on the agenda for the next meeting of his patriotism working group.

Tids
Always chewing over the latest rubbish Birmingham result.
I watched almost all of Le Mans on Sunday. It was on BBC2 at lunchtime.
Four stars recommended

Some Candy Talking JAMC It was one of the first indie songs I really got. Possibly one of the first I heard. I still like it now. In fact I have plugged in phones to my laptop and am listening to it now. I am not 100% convinced it is about confectionery though.

Ya cheese-eatin’ surrender monkeys.
You lot would all be up in the rigging of Redoutable, taking pot-shots at Nelson.

I suppose the Jesus and Mary Chain did reference candy quite a bit. And honey.
Sweet tooths.

I like that film very much.
I'm about to post a video here. It's for a piece of music with footage from, I think, a Vanishing Point remake. It is a tremendously thrilling piece of music, which needs a wider audience than the Jukebox:

52 perfect comfort filmsSome great films in this article (some stinkers too). I would echo The Blues Brothers, The Apartment, Destry Rides Again ('natch) and The Producers, but would include Some Like It Hot, Napoleon Dynamite * and Planes, Trains and Automobiles to name just three... * I would appear to be in a minority of one on this in my household.

Morning all,
Had a small BDT last night with one small large glass of port. Feeling top 🍌 this morning.
I wonder which film the government will base the next stages of the pandemic response on. The never-ending story?
Games - tried to play Genshin again last night, beat the 20 minute update download, only to find the whole thing was in maintenance for the next 8 hours, switched it off and went to bed. 4 stars.

Also got to pondering whether I have read V by Thomas Pynchon or not. I think I have, but it would of been over 10 years ago. I remember being thoroughly confused by one of his books. Going back to it and flicking through, it is hard to tell.
What is the best book? I'm thinking of getting Mason & Dixon, or Gravity's Rainbow, neither of which I think I have read. I have Against the day, but I hear that one isn't as good, and I've read bleeding edge, which was merely passable.

I did not see this. I quite often listen to the JAMC version of Vegetable Man, but I think maybe I prefer the Syd Barrett version. I'm going to go and post it in the Jukebox ...

I can't think of many comfort films. I've watched Dead Man's Shoes a few times, and The Empire Strikes Back. I sometimes think I might watch Excalibur again.
