Morning champs.
It's my first day back in the office since 21st February. None of it due to holiday, some of it because of working from home, and big chunk due to the winter lurge. I have yet to decide whether my return was a good idea or a bad idea.
Any ornithologists about? I heard a bird in a tree this morning that creaked. The bird that is, not the tree.

It's snowing here. I'm not amused.
GTA last night for a wee change. Some gta chums chased off a full lobby of folk who were being aggressive. We then had a quiet space to do the last night of 2x$ biker sales. I've now got $2m. One of the guys who plays it a lot has has $65m. Thats a lot of grind.
Finished Gomorra S3. Wasn't expecting that ending. Won't say much else for spoilers. Mon eh young team.

Any ornithologists about? I heard a bird in a tree this morning that creaked. The bird that is, not the tree. This is an adult black-and-red broadbill, Cymbirhynchus macrorhynchos, which is placed into the broadbill family, Eurylaimidae. The broadbills apparently originated in southeast Asia, although two genera are found in sub-Saharan Africa. All broadbills are small passerines, and consume a wide variety of insects and spiders as well as lizards and tree frogs. Many species also consume small fishes and a variety of invertebrates, especially mollusks and crabs.

Not forgetting the colourful bill is exceptionally large amongst its family members and the turquoise upper mandible and golden lower mandible are distinctive. The black-and-red broadbill has no close relatives and it is the only species placed into the genus, Cymbirhynchus. This widespread species is always found near water in subtropical and tropical lowland mangroves and rainforests throughout much of southeast Asia. These birds are residential territory holding birds that live in pairs or small (family?) groups. They build their nest in dead tree stumps near flowing water during the dry season. Males help incubate and tending to the chicks.
In addition to the distinctively coloured and sized bill, black-and-red broadbills have glossy black upperparts and tail, a crimson rump and a bold but narrow white stripe on its otherwise black wings. The underparts and throat are brilliant crimson. Irides and legs are dark. Sexes are alike.

Morning all,
Today is my Thursday! As such my interest in doing any sort of work in minimal. No interesting weather in the south.

Some of the most inoffensive chat this place has ever seen, and yet my work fun-filter has chosen today to block the site.
Games chat: started FFXV. I'm only a couple of hours in but have to say I really like it. Driving a boy band round a desert, doing odd jobs for randoms, all at a nice gentle pace. I'm assuming some sort of drama or conflict will come along and ruin it soon enough though.
The Walking Dead: better than last week. Still a bit shit

At this risk of sounding controversial, I'm leaning towards destry's owl idea.
Mainly because I'm not in Asia.

Have you considered that there may be a tree house up the tree concerned? One with a door with a rusty hinge?

Most probably a great tit or similar if it was high-pitched. If it was lower pitched, jays sometimes make creaking noises, and starlings are quite good mimics so could easily make a creaking noise. They're probably the most likely options if you're in an urban or suburban area in Great Britain.

I stayed in a gite a few years ago where the somewhat grumpy owner put a grubby tea towel style cloth up on the shutters. I presumed this was to dry it, but within a day a couple of housemartins arrived. They proceeded to build a nest, threading twigs into the cloth. by day 3 this was complete and they laid eggs and sat on them. All this occurring about two feet outside the sitting room window. It was fascinating how much effort the birds put in to build a nest where it did not seem possible. It turned out that providing material for the birds to use was traditional in that part of France and to have a nesting pair was considered lucky. Sadly we left before any chicks hatched/ the owner ate the baby birds.

Sadly we left before any chicks hatched/ the owner ate the baby birds. We had housemartins nest on ours a few years back, just above our bedroom window. They reared a couple of chicks and returned the following year to have another few. Noisy little fuckers on a Sunday morning (probably every morning but more noticeable when you want a sleep in). As much as the noise was annoying, it was still a little sad that they didn't return in the Summer just gone. The nest is still there now. Morning! Watched last weeks X Files and the most recent TWD last night. Both enjoyable enough, in different measures. I do seem to prefer the X Files episodes where they don't take themselves too seriously. Also managed a couple of hours of .hack. Still plodding along. Haseo is beginning to soften, as expected. He's still a colossal knob though.

Im up to season two of X Files.
Its really good and you can play which episode of Supernatural is that guy from.
Annoyed my other half by being able to say that an actress in the episode was a small speaking role in Armageddon, explain the scene.
I cant remember day to day stuff but crikey can I remember which movie/program bit part extras appeared in.
Mr X is Rufus from Supernatural, always liked him. Mitch Pileggi is the Winchesters Grandad.

If they had the Narrator from that movie do a narration at the beginning it would have been awesome.
