I'm watching Die Schlangengrube und das Pendel * or the English title; The Torture Chamber of Dr. Sadism, ( originally released in the US and UK as "The Blood Demon"); a 1967 Bavarian film starring Christopher Lee as Count Regular (?...hmmm...why does that sound familiar?)
It's hokum, of course, but entertaining nonetheless.
4 stars.
* The Pit and the Pendulum based (very) loosely on Poe's story.

It's hokum, of course, but entertaining nonetheless. 4 stars. * The Pit and the Pendulum based (very) loosely on Poe's story. Listening to Christopher Lee speaking German was such a treat. They don't make them like that anymore. Edit: Ah, I had forgotten that it's also got Lex Barker and Karin Dor in it. That's quite the cast. |
