Predator is a classic.
Not so much when Van Damme's audition clips (he was meant to be the Predator). Apparently it's harrowing. Listened to the Wizard & The Bruiser episode on it.
Highlights I can remember.
Arnie using mindgames in during makeup to win a bet with Ventura over who had the biggest arms.
Old Painless as the first minigun which then became a mainstream.
Shane Black only getting cast so they could have him look over the script.
Sonny Landham being a real handful off set.
The foliage being imported and plant being painted green as they filmed during autumn.
Great film.

We got an email from the child's school regarding the Oct school week scarecrow trail. Apparently kids can "earn house pints" if they complete the trail.
I know it's the holidays, and this is the west of Scotland, but booze to 9 yr olds isn't really on.

Hello nerds.
Running a number of errands yesterday and having no firm dinner plans gave me the opportunity to try out the new (for me) takeaway place round the corner. Chicken kebab with salad & mayo and enough beer to do BDT justice and combat the salt. All the stars, would cheat on diet again.
Favourite streamer who's got time on his hands because he's between jobs had been playing properly shonky horror game Devour with a group of friends the evening before. Just when I thought that I could finally have a gaming evening on my own yesterday he showed up with more BOTW. Naturally I couldn't miss that and he's always having so much fun that the stream goes on for way past my bedtime.
Which was a problem this morning when I needed to be up and running because I was waiting for the postman to deliver my copy of Metroid Dread. However, the postie came and went and delivered no Samus.
I'd been concerned about that because normally I get an email with tracking info when delivery is imminent. This time I only got one email informing me that they were about to take my money (which they did) and that the delivery of the Samus Aran & E.M.M.I. amiibo has been delayed by a month. When I looked at the history of my orders yesterday the order is just marked as "completed" with an option to return the item.
If the supply chain crisis is now affecting video games and plastic figurines there'll be hell to pay. This is personal.

The PM has ordered loads of Halloween sweets in the ship. FFS. My weakness is legendary on chewy sweets. Loaded or otherwise.

OK so I have this crucial document that needs to be be signed by a bigwig in Belgian and then by one in France, before being posted to Ireland. This then needs to be posted to somewhere else in Ireland for further signatures. This HAS to be completed by the end of October and I started this off about 2 weeks ago.
Bigwig 1 and Bigwig 2 actually met up in an office today and it was decided this would be a good opportunity for the document to be handed from one to the other in person. It took several emails, a Teams call and Microsoft Paint image of the document with circles around the parts that needed signing just to get to this point.
The document has now been Fed-exed to Ireland and I was emailed a scan of the document. Dear reader it has been signed in the wrong place.

Some people just have to learn the hard way.

If you really want to remain in the 20th Century with wet signatures (even though electronic signatures have the same legal standing) then perhaps counterparts would be a good idea? Or perhaps don't make customers sign to say whether they want fries with that?

Never, ever underestimate the stupidity of Bigwigs and their flappers, clackers and backslappers*... Yes, but unfortunately one wasn't available ... *flappers - those who get their coffee, wipe their asses and kiss them *clackers - self-important fuckwits trying to get BW's attention and *backslappers - jolly fellows who materialize hoping that the shiny will rub off on them. In short, if you don't get one person to sign for the document and to take the responsibility for getting it correctly signed, it won't happen Groups don't do things; one person does.

I did state to the Irish outfit that electronic and counterpart is done much quicker, but alas no, they insist on the hard way...
