The new Animal Crossing stuff is out a day early. Jimmy Tenthen will be missing in action I think. I will, but for different reasons. I don't have time for games because I'm still busy with the preparations for the charity gaming at the weekend. Actually, I did have time for games, but it wasn't Animal Crossing. I played a bit more of the dreadful Meteroids. I still have no idea how people are breezing through that game. Several times I went the right way, then thought it was the wrong way and wasted some time before getting back on track. Then I had some trouble with the second boss before I decided to employ my failsafe strategy of boring them to death. No spoilers, but let's say that there was a lot of navel gazing. Now I'm looking forward to encountering my fourth E.M.M.I. Like, not. I deeply love this game but sometimes it feels like an abusive relationship. Actually, I take that back. The game loves me, too. It just wants me to git gud. There are these amazing cutscenes where Samus is a total badass but I can't help but feeling that it's a bit of a contrast with the way I play her. Because it seems that when my Samus turns into a mothball she's found her true self not only physically but also intellectually. tl;dr: too many gamez and no time for AC.

Ottm. A spooky coincidence. I bought a second hand book online via Amazon or something last week ago and it turned out to have a handwritten inscription inside indicating that it was a copy once owned by the author, dated 1996. Then, this morning, I got an email on a completely unrelated subject from the same author, whom I have never met before, nor do I know. It's not completely random, as the book is work related and so was the email, but it still sent a chill down my spine. I've sent the guy a photo of his younger self's handwriting. I hope this doesn't end up with him chasing me through a dark forest with an axe.

Looks like the Government have hilariously back tracked on Paterson, hopefully the odious shit loses a bye election. A 'bye Felicia' election.

Hermes are holding my Amazon delivery hostage. Properly. They have even sent me an email about it This would potentially be more annoying if I hadn't received two CDs today. One of them a day early.
Water Looks like South Staff Water have not joined Amazon Prime or heard of Screwfix. The water is still flowing freely, outside the pipe.
Also it seems there are a lot of drivers who can't read (or understand) a road closed sign. Last night on the way home I saw a passenger remove cones from two barriers so a car could drive through. They did replace them. This lunchtime a car drove straight through. The cones were moved aside for a SSW van. At the top end it simply drove on the pavement to get round the barrier.

I'm probably too late for this, but you could also send your tube friend some supermarket own brand energy drinks. Those things are quite something. I'm torn on Meteoroids. The movement feels great, it looks good, but I just find myself rushing through as fast as possible to get to the next area and it feels a bit like busy work. Monster hunter on the other hand? Smashing a pukei pukei into oblivion as fast as possible is top busy work.

From Owen Paterson:
I have today, after consultation with my family, and with much sadness decided to resign as the MP for North Shropshire.
The last two years have been an indescribable nightmare for my family and me.
My integrity, which I hold very dear, has been repeatedly and publicly questioned.
I maintain that I am totally innocent of what I have been accused of and I acted at all times in the interests of public health and safety.
I, my family and those closest to me know the same. I am unable to clear my name under the current system.
Far, far worse than having my honesty questioned was, of course, the suicide of my beloved and wonderful wife, Rose.
She was everything to my children and me. We miss her every day and the world will always be grey, sad and ultimately meaningless without her.
The last few days have been intolerable for us.
Worst of all was seeing people, including MPs, publicly mock and deride Rose’s death and belittle our pain. My children have therefore asked me to leave politics altogether, for my sake as well as theirs.
I agree with them. I do not want my wife’s memory and reputation to become a political football.
Above all, I always put my family first.
This is a painful decision but I believe the right one.
I have loved being the MP for North Shropshire and have considered it a privilege to have been elected to serve my constituents for 24 years.
I would like to thank my staff who have worked for me so loyally over many years. I also want to thank those who have stood by me so staunchly.
I wish them all the best in that difficult but vital job of being a member of parliament.
I will remain a public servant but outside the cruel world of politics.
I intend to devote myself to public service in whatever ways I can, but especially in the world of suicide prevention.
At this incredibly difficult time for my family, we ask that the media respects our privacy and lets us grieve my beloved Rose, the best person I ever met.
He says he does not want his wife's death to be a political football, yet he brings her up constantly here. No apology for the Committee he said should resign or even to the general public for being found in breach of the lobbying rules.

Rolling are you still playing Apex? Is it really hard now? Not as much as I used to. Rarely stay on for more than 2 or 3 games. Don't think it's got harder, but I am terrible at these games so probably not best placed to judge. It still rewards good teamwork.
