I hate fireworks. I could hear next door's dogs whimpering until late... it mystifies me that animal lovers haven't a clue how very sensitive dog and cat hearing is.

I was out running last night when, on a totally quiet street, someone set off a rocket just the other side of a high hedge I was going past. I was compelled to adopt a bandy legged gait for the remainder of my expedition.

I have a few 2FA set up and obvs felt smugly IT secure, imagine how dumb I felt when I realised that the text notification containing the passcode* to your phone was being displayed on the lock screen because I hadn't disabled that function.
*that is the second authentication sent after the normal password had been entered.

Morning.
Pup didn’t seem bothered by the fireworks and eventually got bored with being out in the garden with us, and joined the old dog behind the sofa, as she’s never been a fan of them.
Pork crackling joint has just gone in. Unwashed, but oiled up and salted. Ian Dury on the tunes. Drunkbuddy due round later so may need to do a quick booze run even though he is likely to rock up with a backpack full.
Tempted to have a bet on Brentford, if only to play Sod’s law and wangle the Canaries first win of the season. Odds not likely two be good.
No games.

Hello.
Horribly wet and windy here today.
There's supposed to be another march today. Can't see it getting the turnout of yesterdays.
Did a set of Auto Shop missions in GTA last night with my pal and his 12yr old. Me trying not to swear in the chat (despite Moodyman on the phone saying motherfucker every two mins in his drawl) and my pal trying not to lose the rag at his son. The boy has mild Asperger's and his attention can waiver. "Remember and keep your bullets, we'll need them at the end. It's a stealth mission" etc.
Cue the boy shooting at random NPC's from the getaway car and bambing up police cars.
Also watched the Morning Show and dead to me.

Hullo.
I finished watching Squid Game last night. It's not very good. Played some Back4Blood with randoms, it's getting very stale now.
All the negatives this morning.
OTTDM: Drag Gregg next door told me they'd had 7 strokes and a couple of heart attacks. They claim to be 23. Hmmmnnn...guess it's possible. Stated this is why they spoke with a slight lisp. Funny that, they told another neighbour it was because of a lower lip infection.
I'm sensing credibility issues.

*yes you, you fine upstanding pillar of the community.
Panic over, 30+ mins of tweaking and installing and a ray of hope from the cloud saving gods and some vigorous testing to make sure it's working properly (4:30 am finish time) and all is good.
Until 4:30 am and the ED servers had a massive crash to such a degree it felt like a lightening bolt through my controller, why - how have I offended the gaming gods?
oh well back to it, test, observe, test, etc...

I've listened to that podcast a couple of times. They only ever seem to record an episode about half an hour after awful defeats while drunk and raging. Not sure it's a solid business model. |

Hello. Rather unpleasant weather here as well, you could be forgiven for thinking it was November. The wind is driving fish and chips wrapping paper down the road. Here in Birmingham we call it picturesque. Happy to report that Jeff worked his magic and that the Bru got thru to California.
Unfortunately I don't have a picture of his puzzled face when he unpacked this largesse because as you can see the labelling is a leftover from the Tartan Army's outing in the summer. Imagine having to explain Baccara, the history of Scottish football, and football itself to an alien via Twitter DM. That's what I had to do yesterday. Just replace alien with American. Same thing. And then right on cue they published this report from COP26 at The Other Place: amp.theguardian.com/environment/2021/nov/05/cop26s-big-question-is-irn-bru-any-goodLady, if you want to be permabanned just say so. (Unlike the German delegate she clearly did not try the Irn Bru Xtra.) I'm so looking forward to the whole event. Unless I'm mistaken streaming starts tonight at 7pm GMT and goes on until 8pm tomorrow because for the Yanks the clocks are going back this weekend. Shite weather here in the definitely not racist* peoples republic of Yorkshire.
Earlier, I went to sainsburys and bought a trolley full of sweet food and booze. Still a fair few empty shelves that had been decorated with cardboard to cover them up. Fresh produce all fine, it's the store cupboard/non perishable** stuff that was low on stock.
Now I'm going to play some more MAFIA whilst keeping an eye on the footy scores.
OTTM, got the heating on so nice and toasty. Sorry Greta.
