Wait a minute - is Harvey's Bristol Cream produced by Brian Harvey of East 17?

I hurt. To make the rigours of treatment* even worse, I stubbed my toe, right on my ingrown toenail ... It felt life-threatening at the time * And God bless Nursey indeed, a sweet Portuguese granny from near Oporto who was ecstatic that I had fleetingly glimpsed her hometown as we passed through going South to Coimbra from Viana do Castelo where we'd gone to see the spectacular cathedral

I guess not ...
I guess everyone's watching it right now.
And fairly enough.

Finished for Xmas and smashed up Rolling's 'joke'. It's how they do it in the big leagues Johnson. You see an opportunity and you go for it.

In other news: Games! I have been playing Farm Boy 3 (i.e. Harvest Moon 3 - GBC) on my Super Arcade Emulator. I also played a little Zelda: Link's Awakening - GB version. Gotta love these cheap Chinese handhelds stuffed full of perfectly legal ROMs. It's just a pity that so many of them are the Japanese versions. I friend gave me an R4 cart for the Nintendo DS the other day. Been downloading games over the past week for copying over to it.

When my great-nieces ask me why they haven't received any presents from me this year, I'll just say I gave them to Santa to deliver and show them this clip.

I've just had my bulk Christmas stuff and put it away. I get all the perishable stuff delivered by my shopping angel at 6 a.m. on Thursday, because she is doing her own shopping between 4 and 5.30. I can't really moan about it, but it's just a bit chilly round the Trossachs at that time of day!

Just back from a successful hunter gatherer expedition. Turkey and all the trimmings for Saturday in the swag bag. Plus more booze. Perhaps all the booze. Hurrah!

Cricket: If I had a say in the England set up, I would axe Silverwood* at the earliest opportunity; and you must be bored with me harping on about how hopelessly inadequate as a captain Root is. 'After the second Test, a visibly frustrated Root said England made the "same mistakes" and needed to "bowl fuller" and be "braver" in pitching the ball up.' Bloody Hell, you're the fucking captain. * "The Ashes: England coach Chris Silverwood says he would pick same teams again for first two Tests"Oh, and we're still 'learning lessons'. The lesson we've learnt is that England are failing by design; heads MUST roll. Here's the full article.

The most annoying thing is, it's not even a great Aussie team. Better than our shower, obvs. But not a patch on previous teams. A shame. I guess swinging a rounders bat in your Jim-Jams for MEGABUCKS is more appealing. Which, with the money involved, is understandable. It's just not for me. I want to watch 5 days of turgid nudging and nurdling with the bowlers working out how to remove a solid batter, with it ending in a draw. Proper cricket (boycott voice).

Sadly Test cricket just isn't what it used to be. Far too much emphasis on speed and strength, which is sad as cricket was traditionally the opposite of the other gentleman's game Rugby Union as skills like shot selection/timing and bowling precisely to the conditions of the field were far more profitable than "smashing it" and "dominating a session".

The greatest batsman of my age was Sachin Tendulkar, a pudgy short fella. The sad thing is the current England setup would not even consider a player like that now.
