Wordle 214 2/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Mr jammy appears to be in town. What a buzz that must be. Even when I saw 3 greens unfold the other day I felt like I'd smacked myself up with one of crankcaller's confectionaries.

hi ... I watched one hour of The Hunt for Red October last night. I ate a delicious curry. I also played two games of Fortnite. I was killed within two minutes in the first but in the second I was like a panther. A hapless one ... when it came down to it. I was killed in the last four. I genuinely do better on the Switch. I don't know why. I think there's a bit more tension on the controller. Who knows? Maybe it's because the draw distance is smaller, so I only see people when I actually have a chance of hitting them. I don't know. I've no idea. You do better on the Switch because you are put in matches against other Switch players and so no one really builds. I expect there are also more bots. I expect the PlayStation kids are much harder to play against.

I watched part of a Hairy Bikers television programme yesterday. It had a strange, reflective quality. Almost as if was their last series - the end of the journey. As if, at the end, one of them was was going to walk to the front door of the Dignitas clinic and wave back in slow motion, as the screen fades to white.

lazybones I must apologise to you and the chatterbox about some information which I helped propagate the other day. Turns out that Germany had not declined British overflights to deliver arms to Ukraine. The RAF flights were deliberately routed around Germany, and so German permission wasn’t required anyway. The article I’d read was supposed to be news, but the author included some speculation within it. He himself has also apologised. That's ok. I'm trying to stop thinking of war with Russia now. Watching The Hunt for Red October and Rocky IV recently has reminded me of the awesome space age Russian tech.

hi ... I watched one hour of The Hunt for Red October last night. That is one of my favourite films. 4*+++ I couldn't root for Captain Ramius. He begins by killing an innocent man in cold blood, then he tears his crew away from their homes and families, and goes on to hand over a submarine - paid for by the toil of millions of Soviet workers - to a country entirely inimical to their interests. Bad form.

I expect the PlayStation kids are much harder to play against. I've played with PS4 players, though, on the Switch. I mean I've been in an otherwise PS4 team. There is cross-platform play. If you play on Switch solo you are largely put in with mobile, Switch and bot players. If on PlayStation you will be put in with other PlayStation and also Xbox players. If you play with PlayStation and Xbox players whilst on Switch you tend to be put in lobbies with others mixed teams too. If you are doing particularly well the game will start to put you in more difficult lobbies with more Xbox and PlayStation players (whether solo or not) and you will even see the odd PC player. Also, regardless of the above your first 10 levels are mostly bot lobbies.

I've just returned from Sainsburys. There I obtained armfuls of Thatchers Katy*, the best cider in the world. Even 'till guy' nodded and verbally confirmed his approval.
*Two bottles.

Bad form. The commissar is not an innocent man, by no means. Only the officers are defecting. The rest of the crew are repatriated with mother Russia.

Afternoon all.
Gamesblog: Swords of Ditto.
TVblog: none.
OTTM: had to go and politely knock on my neighbour’s door at 10:30pm last night to ask them to turn the music down substantially. They were listening to a Spotify 80s mix.
How do I know this? Because I could hear every word. Tina Turner, Peter Gabriel, Rick Astley. Hit after hit after hit.
At least it wasn’t some R’n’B bass-fest. Or one of those rappers you have these days.

Hack their WiFi. Log onto their WiFi. Open Spotify*. You now control Spotify on the machine they are playing. Turn it down or change it to something else. Profit?
*Other streaming services are available

This is Phil Dick's schtick*; Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep2 - in truth I am susceptible to this, immured in Chumbles' Mansions, fighting electronic wars against opponents around the intangible world. I just hope that there's scope for the virtual population of the United** Kingdom to grow a capacity to think for themselves and see past the webs spun by Johnson and his puppet masters... *Tuffers: Simulate THIS! **Sick joke

As much as I hate other people’s fun, I don’t begrudge them wanting to listen to music/watch a film etc. But the volume was obscene, and particularly on a Tuesday night in suburban East Sussex.

I dreamt of trying to put the willies up our neighbours when they were making a lot of noise, a while ago.
They were / are drugs people though. There was always the risk that, rather then render them susceptible to Scooby Doo levels of fear, the drugs might have turned them into dead-hearted killers.
