What's wrong with Sheep2? Who knows? Nobody has ever been able to offer a satisfactory diagnosis.

Josh Wardle had a dream, but the dream became fractured. And darkness descended across the land.

Someone who could drink 14 pints then improvise a scene from Eastenders in the style of a Renaissance comedy? In German!

lazybones - I reckon this might be better than the worry tent. It's the sort of thing that looks as though it's out of science fiction, or a scam, but it appears to be real! As I am ca. 10 miles from NATO's AIRCOM back up base it won't do me that much good π!

I wasn't keen on a unit of currency being used as a word in Wordle yesterday. Mainly because I'm not familiar with a lot of world currencies. I thought it was a nice gift to Zelda players. I know what you mean, but I can accept the concept that for Wordle they've taken all the 5-letter words that would be allowed in Scrabble except for whatever Josh Wardle's partner found too obscure. So I just have to put myself in the shoes of a reasonably educated American woman. These are clear parameters. So, for example, I had the choice between two words I happen to know, "caulk" and "waulk", but I was guessing that a modern American woman probably won't know the latter. The Quordle repertoire, on the other hand, is straight out of the dictionary. You may not guess right but you can learn a new word. Most days I've also been doing the free version of the NYT "Spelling Bee" game where you've got to form valid words out of 7 letters, with one mandatory letter. The rules there are all over the place as they obviously don't recognise common British words; e.g. I had no luck with "layby" or "Balti", but "tali" would have been an acceptable answer. It's a great way to send your blood pressure through the roof.

What's everyone having for tea / dinner?
I think we're having roasted kohlrabi and cauliflower with a sesame dressing.
I think it will take the evening meal into another dimension. I've got high hopes.

I'm watching a work-related lecture on zoom with an audience of about 50 people, of which two have somehow not yet learned that you have to switch off your video. One of them is sitting in his dressing gown (hard to tell what else), the other one is munching a massive burrito while also wearing a mask and looming into the camera. I'm a bit worried about the former, but the latter is more entertaining than the talk.

I think I'm just having beer for dinner. Today seems to be in the act of going wrong.
Edit: at least I'm not on a work zoom at the moment, as far as I'm aware.

I've got high hopes. It;s looking like falafel, pitta bread and all that malarkey at this end. Maybe even some hummus to really make things exciting.

Practicing for BDT in the early hours? I've been listening to "Alexander - God of War" by Christian Cameron and it is an excellent listen, so far... it's available on Google Play for Β£21.99; narrated by Narrated by Peter Noble, it's 41 hr 12 min. There's a sample at that link, and a downloadable free 4 hr 7 min sample. It's a compulsive listen.

Now that I have a microwave I was able to have a microwave meal. Thai green curry with chicken and rice. I think it was okay. I can still only guess the taste, so I'm definitely not putting more effort into a meal than pressing a button and waiting four minutes.
Over the last 24 hours I've been sleeping a lot, but I'm still tired. My sister-in-law recommends paracetamol and whisky to combat the cold. She works for the NHS, so she probably knows what she's talking about. SlΓ inte.
