I thought the liberals went full on nutters, alcoholics, seeing cheeky girls and all that sort of thing. It seems that Jackie weaver didn't actually have any authority and the ones who embarrassed themselves spent 80k to try and show they weren't embarrassed. Don't forget shooting dogs.

The 7 letter took far too long; not because it was difficult, but because I was very hung up on including two wrong letters

I suspect some of our younger viewers won't get the Jeremy Thorpe reference.

In the October 1974 election the Liberals won 13 seats. Their MPs included 2 sex offenders: Cyril Smith and Clement Freud. Plus the leader Jeremy Thorpe was tried for plotting to murder his lover. Although he was acquitted it is reasonably clear he was guilty.
That's an indecent ratio of serious criminals

But, not a good look for the Libs, luckily the SDP came along to make everything right. *not at all but I wanted to say it.

I held a door open for Clement Freud in a cafe once. He gave me a malevolent stare and didn't say thank you.

Remember when Owen Jones got beaten up outside that pub?
Evening all. Today has been all go. Boy’s swimming lesson this morning, meaning an early-morning trip to Lewes.
A brief return home afterwards, and then off to Hastings (well, a village near to Hastings) for a pub lunch with family.
That was followed by a long walk across Firelight glen, the rise back up to the car park almost killing me - clearly my fitness has suffered during my couple of weeks of illness.
Anyway, back home now, and thoroughly shattered. Collapsing in front of the telly is on the books once the boy goes to bed.

Remember when Owen Jones got beaten up outside that pub? You can dislike someone without wanting them to be beaten up.

As a control sample, I've also held a door open for Richard Wilson, in a chip shop on the Great Western Road, and he couldn't have been more gracious about it.

In other news, BabyF starts qualifying for the Australian GP and realises he's left his cheese sandwich in the pit lane. In this reconstruction, he's played by Ayrton Senna.

I've started watching the extended cut of Blue Velvet on YouTube. At nearly 3 hours I'll watch it over two nights or so. Good quality 'print' though. 4 stars.
