So... Michael Fabricant thinks that teachers and nurses drink alcohol in school and hospital staff rooms. I don't know about anywhere else, but it's probably true for Lichfield. It would at least go some way to explaining why they keep voting for Michael Fabricant. Lichfield doesn't have a proper hospital, not even an horsepital. Also loads and loads of nice pubs. I can't see many teachers necking cans in staff rooms there. At the very least they would have bought overpriced carry outs from the craft beer pub.

That took a while. I am always amazed as to where the brain goes when thinking through the letters needed.

I've been shopping. I've also received a letter today from my old insurance company explaining that they were unable to renew because my bank details had changed. YOU COULD HAVE FUCKING TOLD ME THAT BEFORE I FOUND OUT I HAD NO INSURANCE ON THE MOTOR.
I'm blaming BabyF.

Books
Mary Beard The Twelve Caesars It is about representations of the Caeaars in art mostly since 1500 CE rather than about ancient Rome. A slightly odd approach. Lots of pictures and reasonably interesting, Very much a niche read.
The Ends Of The World Bog standard popular science book about the 5 great extinctions. It's pretty competent and not badly written if that is your sort of thing. I've read loads of similar books so it is my sort of thing.
Four stars recommended

And they definitely didn't email you in the run up to the renewal date where they mentioned you should get in contact if any details (such as your bank details) have changed since last renewal?

It's cheaper to not bother with car insurance.
I'm not saying it never happens, but NHS Trusts and Primary Care Providers tend to have cultures and employment contracts that are pretty strongly opposed to drinking at work or being at work whilst under the influence of alcohol. All senior teachers are alcoholics, but tend to do their drinking secretly or in the head's office, not the staff room.

I thought it was known all surgeons and doctors are alkies. They don't keep alcohol in squeezy bottles to keep their hands clean. That is just a story.

It's like claiming that your fridge is full of booze because full fridges work more efficiently. It is a story to keep the abyss in the corner.

hello
I've been in bed most of the day. I got up to make a toasted cheese sandwich.
I'm reading a book about Friedrich Nietzsche in Turin. Where he went, what he did. It's quite good.
I've also got this headache that just won't quit. The pm and I did covid tests again. She came up positive and I came up negative. I feel like my identity as a covid sufferer is being erased.
I like the Diplomacy game.
