Hello
After an 8(!) hours, 20 min. marathon of Trails in the Sky SC I'm back among the living.
If you can call this living.
The stream ended around 4:20 a.m. but we've beaten the game. Finally. Now on to something completely different, such as Trails in the Sky the 3rd.
Only kidding, we are having a few weeks break from the series before we start it. Personally I can't wait.
After the stream had ended I realised that I was hungry and so had a bowl of cereal for breakfast at 5 in the morning before going to bed.
Expect no energetic deeds from me today. Playing more video games sounds just about right. As Faceless said, hair of the dog and all that.

Thank you for the wonderful header, Chumbles ! That is indeed my turnip picking outfit together with my (t)rusty turnip bucket. You don't get to have millions of bells in your Bank of Nook account without putting in the backbreaking work of bringing in a good turnip harvest. Only joking, in reality you are of course getting rich off the back of child labour as you exploit a snotty nosed underage agricultural worker and her aged grandmother. Otherwise it wouldn't be evil capitalism now, would it?

Is Faceless pissed up again? How would we tell if he wasn't? More to the point, how would he?

I've made chicken enchiladas for dinner. Nobody is that hungry as we went out for lunch. So I've just used four tortillas and there's plenty of mix to freeze. Not much of a kick to it due to child.
As much as I've enjoyed being off today I *really* can't be arsed going in tomorrow/Wednesday. Off with the child on Thursday as it's an in service day at her school.
Today's bank holiday miracle was the child liking trainers in the Clarks sale - so £16 instead of double that. I tried on a pair of wallabees. But my days of paying £120 for shoes that fall apart in the rain are long gone.

Scots denizens - I now understand why you* have never mentioned the delights of Edinburgh Zoo... *Nor my tight-fisted, alcoholic Auntie** in Corstorphine, even though it was on the hill overlooking her "wee hoose", and it was FREE. **who died because her liver had become so pickled by her bottle-a-day habit that the University probably jumped when it blissfully sighed as they preserved it in spirit***. Edit: *** Whisky, if you were in any doubt

Scots denizens - I now understand why you* have never mentioned the delights of Edinburgh Zoo... It's been a while since I last visited Edinburgh Zoo but I can confirm that the hills are out there to kill you. I don't think Craig is giving a fair account of the delightful penguin parade (some of my family members sponsor a penguin and all). He's right that the pandas do f*ck all but fails to mention the salient point that they don't all f*ck and that the costly Scottish panda breeding programme has been a complete failure. It was fun going to the zoo with my Pref. Mam. because he would be triggered by the sight of African animals to speak Zulu (his first language) for the rest of the day. During one visit we observed how late in the day one of the keepers was trying to bring in the rhinos from their enclosure. He was calling one rhino lovingly by name: "Floozy! Floooooozy! Come here, Floozy!" After a minute of stunned silence the penny dropped for the PM: he guessed (correctly) that the animal's full name was Umfolozi, named after a famous wildlife reserve in KwaZulu-Natal* that is known for its rhino conservation programme. (Here's a picture of Umfolozi and her calf:) Rhinos are known for their poor eyesight...
*it was also the site of a memorable family outing where my father-in-law, terrified family in the back of the car, had to floor it after getting too close to a white rhino. (It's quite an experience to be close to wild animals in Africa. One morning in the Kruger PM and I came across an elephant calmly munching its breakfast. I could have reached out of the car and touched its trunk (but I didn't).)

Hi
After a busy Saturday and Sunday, today I've been mostly sitting, watching snooker/football and having a few beers. Now I'm doing more sitting, watching snooker/football and having more beers.
Left over chicken and chick pea curry shortly.
Back at work tomorrow, bah.

Evening
I see Fulham did my team a favour in our bid to secure a play off place by stuffing Luton 7 - 0. So it's all to play for on the final day. Still need to win and hope other results go our way...

M&S spicy chicken & roquito peppers pizza and salad for dinner. I didn't try to fold it (neither the pizza nor the salad).
I'm still feeling the effects of the marathon stream last night, mainly an inability to focus which makes reading and watching television slightly tricky. Probably an argument for going to bed.

I'm watching Alien on ITV4, they've just found Jonesy. In other cat related news, Tids Junior has nicked my spot on the sofa for watching the TV. The bugger is not actually watching Alien, just lying there with a smug 'Fuck you' look on it's fuzzy face.
Git.

Only one comment so far, and that's about the superiority of the Atari ST. Get in there!
Thank you for this, a good read!
