Ah, Saudi Arabia. I've told you before that in the 80s my PM had spent 4 years working as a Saudi government employee. To say that he was relieved to get out of that country after he had survived an assassination attempt is putting it mildly. He lived in Riyadh, and because the fastest way home from work was via the main square he always checked the newspapers whether there would be any public executions, lashings, or amputations so that he could avoid the area that day. It would just be too crowded with spectators and so it was better to take a detour to get home in time. There was great excitement at his workplace when one of his colleagues was convicted of fraud (if I remember correctly he'd been forging documents) and was sentenced to have his hand cut off. Now, you may intensely dislike some of your colleagues at work for sending you stupid emails or chairing pointless meetings. Do you want to know what some of this man's colleagues did when they heard he was getting his hand cut off? They bought new camcorders so that could get it all on video. Luckily it all had a happy ending. The PM's boss managed to pull some strings and get the bloke out of the country and into the US, where he set himself up as a fundamentalist Islamic preacher in Tennessee. Before anyone says it, no I did not behead our pony-tailed science rat, as much as it was tempting to do so. Nor did I feed him into the machine that slices samples really, really thinly and dissolve his remains in the various digest solvents we have by the gallon around the place and pour the resultant human soup underneath the recently built A14 extension before they put in the concrete. That absolutely did not occur.

I know inflation is bad at the moment but it is rampant in Kaneworld where 10 3 becomes 10 9.

If I'm going to have to die from an exotic disease I wish they could come up with some gravitas. Cause of death..... Monkey Pox. People will laugh rather than show any empathy.

The abbreviation for 1,000 tends to be k for kilo, not G for giga... (Due to technical issues we cannot bring the scintillating rhetoric from Mr. Kane's brain but a continuation from the edited section of the post is available below). ..A grand or 'G' is also applicable from cockney rhyming. I was born just outside of Bow Bells limits so for me the term grand is normal, if I was born inside then it would be 'Bag' according to how my upbringing would have been. Here's my 'favourite' info site. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slang_terms_for_money#:~:text=%C2%A31%2C000%20is%20commonly%20referred,would%20be%20called%204%20bags. £1,000 is commonly referred to as a grand, e.g., £4,000 would be called 4 grand, or rarely in certain dialects as a "bag" (from the rhyming slang "Bag of Sand"), e.g., £4,000 would be called 4 bags. For those who understand these things, I'm not techy by any means, more a case of curiosity. So I had it in my mind to play Star Citizen but my PC is a dinosaur, I am unsure of the specs needed and my budget is around £1G, do any of you know if this is any good for playing SC:? AWD-IT Gaming PC AMD Ryzen 5 5650GE PRO 4.4GHz Boost CPU | B450M | 16GB 3200MHz DDR4 | 1TB HDD | 300mbps WiFi | Windows 11 | Volt Gaming Case Never buy pre- built, you're just throwing money away. The setup also lacks a deticated GPU and so no, you could not play Star Citizen. Try and find a RTX3070 or better at a decent price then CPU should be a AMD 5700x or better. You will want LOADS of RAM for that game too, as much as 64 GB..

Evenin' all
Just sitting down to watch the footer final. Glasgow must be dead tonight as everyone appears to be in Seville. There must be 500,000G Rangers supporters, minimum. Think Frankfurt might be too good for them but I'll be rooting for Rangers.
