For me, the most beautiful piece of music ever written; I'm listening to the Patrick O'Brian Aubrey/Maturin sequence of audiobooks and whilst Weir's amalgamation was annoying, they used this piece of music perfectly. It has never failed to make me cry; so much so that I avoid listening to it in company. I first heard it in 1971... |
