I knew 1 of the first 5 and then gave up. I'm a sucker for anything with King Tut in it: even to queuing for 3h for the Tutankhamun exhibition at the British Museum in 1972; nowadays you can only see a recreation of it in Dorchester.

Is Egypt better now it's a free and fair democracy or was it safer with the old bloke on charge, army on each corner and very few tourists in the pyramids and museums?

11/15
As long as they keep putting in questions about ancient history, African geography and German stuff I will continue to do relatively well in these quizzes.

I didn't get round to posting my W/Quordle score yesterday because I had practically no sleep the night before and unlike in amipal 's case it wasn't because of a sick child. I just managed to keep myself awake all night and then had stuff to do in the morning. In the afternoon I met my sister-in-law at New Street who was visiting Birmingham for a conference. She hadn't been to New Street station for a while and was confused by the layout, what with all the different coloured "zones" and stuff (I don't find any of this particularly helpful but I suppose it's less than useless for anyone with colour blindness). We wanted to grab a late lunch at one of the food places of the Grand Central (which I still call Pallasades out of habit) but before that she was looking to buy a USB memory stick for her laptop. Although there were several shops with stationery and phone stuff nearby, none had memory sticks and we were both getting fed up walking around whilst carrying her luggage. So I rummaged through my handbag and miraculously found a little cheap USB stick that a long forgotten student had left behind years ago. I have no idea what was on it (hopefully no virus and only a moderate amount of porn) but she was happy to have it. We ended up at a Lebanese place where I had some very juicy lamb kofta wraps with side salad & hummus (probably a bit expensive but I wasn't paying) and baklava and a "spiced hot chocolate" for dessert. Opted for the hot chocolate because weirdly they didn't have proper Arabic coffee. It had rose petals on top and a bit of halva at the bottom. Interesting concept, but I was still getting rose petals out of my teeth hours later. Tasted good, though. When I got home I found that once more Beardy's internet wasn't working. Lunch had been so late that I didn't need dinner, so just nibbled on some leftover baklava. At least I got seven solid hours of sleep last night so feeling slightly better today though still a bit groggy. Ganes: 20 minutes of crossing animals. Everyone knows New St Station was much better laid out than Grand Central. That's just science. It was much easier to use all the secret entrances than now it is all laid out in one big area. It's much more difficult from the top now to work out where each platform is. I don't know how they have achieved that. My favourite entrance was the escalators up from the bus station to the back of the Palisades. I never saw anyone hanging out on the landing, but it always felt like they could.

I note that Tent Hen has gone through all my posts from yesterday, she is good people and thorough. I would describe today as mind numbingly depressing. There's just...too much. And I'm only 1 man*. Not sure how long I can keep this up** if I'm perfectly honest. How much does a binman earn? Well not offering anything myself but there are few decent people here who would be happy* to listen to you. *In an non-vampiric emotional way. Cheers my dude. Its mostly hyperbole, but there does need to be a massive shake up or I'm going to walk. We had a rather large incident at the weekend (not involving anything I'm in charge of thank fuck) that hopefully will be a wake up call for the suits.

So did my PM, but only because his mother insisted on going. I'm sorry to report that he disliked ancient Egypt because he thought that the ancient Near East was much better (he was right, of course) but overshadowed by Egypt in the public's perception. However, because of the links between Near Eastern civilisations and Egypt it was not always possible for him to avoid the subject and so he once complained to his Egyptologist colleague "I'm so sick of the 18th Dynasty". "Imagine how I feel" came the response.

Me and Mrs Zord went in 2008, and there were blokes with guns everywhere. One of the guides who showed us round Karnak had an MP5. He got tipped well. Another guard fell asleep on the bus to Abu Simbel and dropped his AK I'm the aisle. The bus went very quiet, very quick. Cairo was mental, what a dump fucking hell, half the buildings are unfinished to get out of paying taxes. How many lanes are there on an Egyptian road, because they don't know either. It's apparently as many as you can fit cars into the road width. It was worth visiting to see all the history, but its a one and done, I wouldn't go back.

6/15. Wasn't going to admit to such a low score, but, well, doesn't feel so bad now.

I have finished* till the 13th July. Happy days. Feed me booze.
I played a bit of The Crew 2 last night. The premise is baws, but there is some ok racing action.
Back on the Tsushima tonight though once the child goes to bed.
*Need to do one thing over the weekend but it's my own fault as I should have done a week ago. The urn won't fill itself.

"'Diehard' Nintendo fan spent over $40,000 buying stock and then asked top executives why the company won't make more of a fan-favorite series"
Tenthen tired as she was harassing Nintendo execs in a different timezone? The truth will out.

That reminds me... needed to correct Sheep2 yesterday on the expensive Mario+Rabbids game. That's Ubisoft, not Nintendo (as one can tell from the "Gold Edition" bollocks). And the first one was constantly on sale with 60% or more off so if anyone pays 75 quid it won't be me. I wouldn't pay that kind of money unless a game comes with a considerable amount of tat collector's doodah.
