Forecast 39° here Monday which is frankly fucking obscene. 37° Tuesday. Global warming my arse. Morning The Portuguese are a great bunch of lads. I've always said it. My Retro pc thingy arrived today. 53,000 games apparently. Will try and set it up after work. explosionoffun.com/product/retrostation-pc-retro-console-and-pc-2-in-1/Obviously it'll never work. But fair play to them for keeping pretence going by sending me an empty mini pc case. Probably with a sketched image of someone being bent over and shafted with an arrow pointing at the shaftee saying "you".

Wordle 391 4/6 ⬛⬛⬛⬛🟩 🟨⬛⬛⬛🟨 (⬛⬛⬛⬛⬛)?! 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 This I don't get, unless you decided to not use your yellow/orange letters. Black or white letters: no valid letter. yellow/orange letters: right letter wrong slot. Green letters: right letter right slot. I have just woken up, oh and fix the melting icecaps while you're at it, chop chop people the ice in my drink is melting. What do you mean I'm not awake yet and running a global corporation dressed as the Easter Bunny, don't be absurd. MORNING Shenguin is a notorious cheat. If you decide you aren't getting the word next go it can make sense to try as many different letters a s possible. Test 5 new letters rather than two. It worked for him in ruling out letters.

Blimey it's now been upgraded to a Red alert for extreme heat. First time ever.

Blimey it's now been upgraded to a Red alert for extreme heat. First time ever. I'm sceptical of predictions of 40C+ It would be a massive jump in the heat record in England. It's much more likely to just push the heat record up a bit (if at all). Predictions of 40C or up to 43C make good headlines though. 39-39.5C will cause enough problems. I may have to buy some lemonade and move to shandies.

Bottle of vodka in the freezer? Have a few for breakfast and pass out to miss the heat? How high can you get the alcohol content of ice cream?

Blimey it's now been upgraded to a Red alert for extreme heat. First time ever. I just looked at the Met Office's Red Alert advisory warning on that and it reads more like an excerpt from Protect and Survive... (edit: I lived very near Staines for 20y, and I am now damn close to Chequers. Come to think of it they would probably avoid BoJo as he is doing such an effective job; ditto Islington.) I can't actually do any more than I am about the heat.

I watched a programme last night about a boxing match between strongmen Eddie Hall and Hafthor Bjornsson. It was ok. Good viewing.
I didn’t even know a fight had taken place.

The centre of the affected area is pretty much consistent with distance from the sea in England - i.e. Brum to Leicester and while Sheep2 is right to be sceptical about 40c as that will be a 'spot' temperature, in direct sunlight it's likely to be much higher. My sweatbox will reach 43c... I am going to have to turn off the PCs and other kit so don't worry too much if I go silent then. Red Alert wording - Met OfficePopulation-wide adverse health effects experienced, not limited to those most vulnerable to extreme heat, leading to serious illness or danger to life. Government advice is that 999 services should be used in emergencies only; seek advice from 111 if you need non-emergency health advice. Substantial changes in working practices and daily routines will be required High risk of failure of heat-sensitive systems and equipment, potentially leading to localised loss of power and other essential services, such as water or mobile phone services Significantly more people visiting coastal areas, lakes and rivers, leading to an increased risk of water safety incidents Delays on roads and road closures, along with delays and cancellations to rail and air travel, with significant welfare issues for those who experience even moderate delays

Following that fight Tyson Fury has been calling out The Mountain. Would be a great fight if they allowed swords. And to the death.

Yes to vodka in the freezer and 100% with surgical alcohol or 150% with over proof Rum. I can say that with experience that the Rum is what you need in the hot weather.

The record high in Birmingham is 35 C so anything high 30s would be a new high. But it is unlikely to reach 40C here. That would be an enormous jump. Heathrow, Kew Cambridge and Kent are generally the hottest spots. It wouldn't be a massive surprise to see a new record set there. At least it will be dry heat. The most unpleasant spot I have been in is Phoenix in the build up to a storm. It was just under 40C and the humidity built very rapidly during the afternoon. When the storm broke it was both spectacular and a massive relief. The recorded Stevenson screen temperature will be a lot lower than the maximum in the sun. Leave a car parked in the sun and it will get astonishingly hot. You'll need to check on pets and children regularly or they will quickly get overcooked.

It's so hot I can't even be bothered to correct Chumbles and point out that 40°C refers to the temperature measured in a Stevenson Screen. The temperature in direct sunlight regularly reaches 40°C in the summer.

Good Morning, Typical southern entitlement moaning about having some really nice sunny weather for a few days.
Since my last post I have been on a real holiday, to France. To a small village on the coast in Brittany. I spent many hours wearing my girlfriends denim shorts, driving a beautiful Citroen 2CV to the boulangerie to collect the daily Baguettes. I consumed an incredible quantity of various Fromage. Went to the beach everyday.
It was the best holiday Ive had in ages.

I'm already dying for temperatures that low. Come to think of it, I probably will be... * Sandy: I've had to call a halt on my relentless pursuit of 100 vics in NP2; I can't think straight atm... My WV fiancée had one of these at the end of her boudoir (the industrial fan, not the bloody shopping trolley)... *No you can't have my stuff.
