I'm hoping I get round to printing the death Star Christmas tree decoration this year. It prints the trenches thinner and you put a wee led inside and battery. Four (death) stars.

If I can get away with a decent test print to start I'll be happy.

Dinner: pasta with truffle pesto with an extra helping of the devil's old car tyres Ganes: just finished watching a stream of Tales of Vesperia (a game that's firmly sitting in my backlog). Late last night the same streamer finished Stray. Short but sweet, though the ending wasn't entirely unexpected. In fact, this is a game that I think would have benefitted from multiple endings. Still, it's good. TV: against better judgement I also watched this last night www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2022/jul/20/unvaccinated-review-the-most-infuriating-tv-show-of-the-year-so-farafter it was trending on Twitter where people were busy slagging off each other and everyone involved in the programme. What a waste of licence fees and everyone's time. As it says in the review, the presenter is very nice. But she was only slowly becoming aware and not fully understanding that not everyone sees the world like a statistician. Two of the participants were so laser-focused on the vaccine damage human interest stories that they saw any other argument or evidence as a distraction. How could one hope to get them on the same page when they weren't even in an adjacent galaxy? The remaining participants were viewing the information they were given like some kind of magic trick: you know it's not real, you just can't quite figure out how. When I spent some time in Germany at the beginning of the year there was a long (2 hours, I think) discussion on the pros and cons of compulsory Covid vaccinations at the invitation of President Franz-Walter Steinmeier. He was also acting as a well-meaning moderator who was completely out of his depth when confronted with a domineering anti-vax Waldorf teacher (Steiner disciples make up a large part of the German anti-vax movement). No one was able to get a word in edgeways and the whole thing was completely thrown off course as she effectively torpedoed and sunk the discussion. High profile car crash TV. One would have thought that someone at the BBC was paying attention and made a note not to touch the topic with a bargepole, but apparently not. tldr: am I a wrong 'un for liking mushrooms?

You could buy six 3D printers at that price, and use them to print a Bruce Springsteen.

Half an hour more stuff to do; a friend (yes, I have one), told me to take it easy... but having been forced to do that for most of this week due to the continent sharing its heat with us, another 3 days of "taking it easy" would create an insuperable chores load. And I would rather die than have some cunt walk in here and pity me, whilst pointedly ignoring the smell, the dust etc. etc. It's irrelevant to you, but so what. Disney are desperate for new subscribers if they're offering "anal..." I'm going to sleep, I hope, after finishing preps...

Oh, another thing about that programme that freaked me out: all of the women (except for the moderator) had long, artificial nails. I know I'm leading a sheltered life but... brrrr *shivers*

Hello all. TVblog: Seinfeld. Warhermitblog: finished my conversion work on an IFV into a self-propelled mortar. Since the fighting compartment for the mortar is removable, I’ve now moved onto turning that into a self-propelled artillery piece. Radioblog: I’ve listened to The Long History of Argument over the last couple of days. Really quite fascinating- a good insight into the strategies and devices we all use. www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m00199xw
