Looks like Tids' nemesis Schofield has got himself in trouble with the Respect police He'll ooze his way out of this one with a sympathy media statement about suffering from mental leprosy or somesuch. Guaranteed. A familiar pattern is for Private Eye to report said rumours about a particular celeb (in a very nuanced way). That suggests most folk in media-land know but no-one is going to make the first move. Then the celeb in question drops the ball and it all starts to come out. I suspect a young gentleman (and possibly others) are being tapped up for exclusive interviews. In my younger days I dated someone who worked in Fleet Street, most outlets have large files on celebs. They keep them till there's a narrative to use them for. |

Fuck, fuck, fuckity fuck. My feet are killing me; stage one chores done... phone calls? Only one completed; remember that wonderful woman who cheered me up last week? She was going to get me a bigger bin, but had to call me back... err... yesterday. Well, I got through to the aptly named "Refuse" department and discovered that I can't get a larger bin without going to the Surgery and getting a signed and stamped form... 'Oh, you can't get there because you're housebound and disabled by the same problems that are generating this huge amount of medical waste. Why not get a friend to go in for... oh, you have no friends that live locally and all your relatives are dead...' She was very professional, she didn't say "You're an unlucky sod, aren't you." So now I have two more calls to make whereas I thought that that last would be it. I'm "Number Seven in the queue..." after 75m... |

Been to a funeral this morning of a guy I used to be quite pally with in my late 20s to Mid 30s. Met through clubbing. Annoyed that I can't go to the whole thing - just the mass - due to work shite. The priest it turns out knew the family - which was nice as at least the comments were from someone who knew him.
Also annoyed friend (a) "can't afford to take time off" - fair enough. In next breathe - look at this 1/2 ounce of weed I scored.
Friend (b) is just going to go to the cemetery afterwards and say a quiet goodbye herself.
Nobody likes funerals for fucks sake.
There were folk there I've not seen in about 15 yrs and would have liked to catch up with at the wake. Hey ho, not to be. Back to work.
Games. None, Deathloop hadn't downloaded but set running before I went to bed.
TV. None.
Music. Deep Dish Yoshiesque as it reminds me of the bold Frank.

Gammo-gate update.
Currently simmering in a pot of water on the hob with peppercorns, bay, onion and celery. To be finished off by roasting in t'oven. Two days worth of evening meals, possibly enough for a sandwich or two as well. To be served with oven chips, pineapple and sweetcorn tonight. Dunno about tomorrow yet. ALL the pork.
Gonna tell the clan there's only enough for one slice of gammo each. Then when I serve it give them two slices so they think I'm the best. They won't know they could have had three. Trickle down gammonomics.

Lunch: home-rotisseried chicken with home made coleslaw, on home made bread (from my mum), thickly spread with butter hand churned from milk from my own herd (this last bit isn't true). And some Wotsits.
TV: caught up with Masterchef, started (then stopped) watching Venom on PrimeFlix
Games - played a bit more Deathloop before bed, still v. confusing , but I _was_ drunk as a skunk

Just back from vets as the NSAIDs they have given the pup have caused massive diarrhoea. Lovely. last 2 night it's been touch and go every couple of hours to get him out of the back door before he lets fly.
I now have 7 neat 1g sachets labelled 'Canine nut supp', which should hopefully bind him up, or failing that get me entry into a couple of dodgy parties.

Plus we haven't had a public lynching for a few weeks, what with everything else going on. Sir Harold would queue up. Then when it was his turn to see The Queen, turn round and go to the back of the queue and wait again so someone could have his place. Morning all,
On the train journey home, sat as I was near the first class section, I caught glimpse of an elusive beast - the man who travels first class for a 30 minute train journey. When he detrained he emerged from his first class cocoon early and stood lording it over the standard class passengers, looking smug as fuck. As if to say I’m better than you people, with the exception of Terry Dakyl who is just travelling standard class because he likes the poetic trappings of the rustic experience.
Anyway…
Come the headlines Liz 2 is reversing tax hike friday. I didn’t even know about tax hike Friday, wiggler Wednesday sounds much better

Lots of it about. My work laptop uninstalled Chrome 2 days ago and has been bombarding me with github warnings. There is another update pending a restart which might sort things out.

1. The barrage of warnings and site blocking started exactly with the latest update 2. A full scan shows nothing and as all the warnings are outbound that points to 3. a duff update.
