Chilly but sunny here. I’m looking out at the lawn, wondering if it’ll be dry enough come lunchtime for a mow…
Yesterday’s drive to and back from the VW garage wasn’t the best. They managed to finish working on my car well into the afternoon, meaning I got school traffic on the way there. And rush-hour traffic on the way back.
The latter was exacerbated by a broken-down cement-mixer lorry creating a huge “tailback” on the A27. Using my local-knowledge, I departed the dual-carriageway early, and threaded my way through the northern suburbs of Brighton. Roadworks made this slow going as well.
TLDR the greater-Brighton-area has very little contingency for roads being closed.
TVblog: X Files. I saw the last five minutes of Bake Off, so at least know who got kicked off this week.
Filmblog: still waxing-lyrically about Everything Everywhere All At Once.
We also managed to watch the first forty minutes of Dune.

Boring moan about my feet My feet are killing me; I discovered yesterday from the podiatrist that my right leg is about half an inch longer than my right, so whilst doing my standing / walking chorez for the last while I have been trying to counteract that. Bloody difficult, even with the constant and severe pain in my right foot to remind me... I'm so much in the habit of blanking it out that I repeatedly found that I was back on that bastard foot.
It doesn't help that it's become pretty obvious that when they screeded the floor in this house they weren't consistent in getting stuff level, but rather just flattening the concrete out. The result is that that half inch difference becomes about 3/4".
Seriously nasty picture of a fucked up foot - don't look if you're squeamish. The bit on the ball of the foot is nearly as bad as the heel. Although the massive ulceration on the other ankle and calf is much worse and really horrible to look at, I don't have to put pressure on that area.
