Last day of the school hols. I'm off with the child.

Last night. More generic BBC cop show and an early night.

The work stuff is OK. Kind of. The problem I was having feels like it has got much better, but now there’s an issue with someone else who is definitely coming across as doing their job very badly.

I don’t want to sound like a monster. I don’t want to be a monster. But maybe I am. I wonder if this person has undiagnosed ADHD. But then she does things that just seem to be taking the piss - almost aggressively slapdash. She asked for three weeks leave in one of the busiest months next year. And has now said she booked flights (before it was agreed).

Ah man …

And now I’ve had very specific complaints about her from someone she works with …

Your not a monster LB. It's not fair on the rest of your team to let this human boil suppurate. Sounds to me like she wants out; you probably know this, but document everything and don't let the situation fester; get HR involved.

It feels a bit difficult because we’ve known each other for years. We haven’t exactly been ‘friends’ but we’ve had friendly chit-chat around the office.

I think she does want out. Or doesn’t want to stay in enough to make an effort.

Half term begins, and the heavens open. Rain, window, and thunder. Boodiful.
I may have to clear some leaves from the drain later, lest the patio outside the backdoor becomes a pool.

Courtesy of Film4, we’ve watched both of the recent Jumanji films over the last couple of days. Enjoyable romps, the both of them. 4* x 2.

I am unconvinced by Scottish school holidays. Half term should be one week*, Not either 1 day or 6 days. Thats just annoying



* Except in February where it is two days. I am not srue why but the school I went to only had a two day half term in February. On the plus side we did get longer than other schools at Christmas, Easter and in the summer. 
I had one week each Summer with free bus travel. It was pretty good.

So why does Crank have today?
Are they running Tuesday-Fri, All Week, Monday?

This is a highly suspicious system.

I don't mind you having two weeks to celebrate the coming of the Great Darkness, but I do think it should be full weeks not split.

Lazybones - I had a colleague a few years ago who sounds similar. She clearly wasn't happy in the job, and was doing it very badly. I was regularly having to cover for her and fix her mistakes. Quite a few people refused to work with her, and our boss told me he wanted rid of her but couldn't do it because "she's got the mental health"

Eventually she went off sick with anxiety for almost a year, and it was great. Turned out she did almost fuck all, and so even though I had to take on her work it was easier than having to fix the mess she'd already made. Plus I didn't have to put up with all her noise

I guess what I'm saying is, let her have the time off. That way you don't have to deal with her
