I've never done drugs apart from someone putting some mary jane into a cup of tea at Uni. I was giggly for about 20 minutes. Who needs overshare when I can underwhelmshare. Did the Romans even have illegal drugs?

Morning. Watching the English really made me want to do a replay of RDR2. I wanted more episodes after the last one, which means it was good, I think. Or was it too short? I have no trouble sourcing all the drugs where I am. I have gone off weed though, its an absolute chat killer and night ender for me these days. Aswell as illegal narcotics at reasonable prices we also enjoy access to free prescription drugs and free education up here and I am looking forward to the next indy ref/General Election and all the craic after that.

Did the Romans even have illegal drugs? Possibly though whether they were defined as legal or illegal is another thing. They apparently banned imports of 'Mad Honey' because, well, the name says it all. There was a fair amount of opium kicking around with all the poppies. They used them for a type of anaesthetic. And probably more (taps nose).

Oh yes, my second top tip for you all: don’t watch Newsnight when they’re interviewing a Russian ambassador and raising war-crimes with him in excruciating detail. Had a bit of trouble getting to sleep last night as a result.

I think there is reasonable evidence for hemp products, opiates and mushrooms all being used medically, socially and for religious rituals, by various cultures around that time.

Calm down, Terence McKenna. I read a book once about how entheogens didn’t catch on in the ‘Old World’ partly because there weren’t that many of them compared to the New World, but also because there were horses in the Old World. And you would spook a horse if off your mash on drugs.

Don't take your horse to church/ temple and it will be fine.
Also I assume horses are fine with you being pissed.
Moralistic bastards.

Pop a few drops of mad honey in the old nosebag. Why shouldn't our equine friends enjoy the party too?

Pompey lost a few hundred men when his army moved through Colchis. The locals left bowls of the stuff out, Romans ate it and ended up in a semi parslysed state. Locals then returned. Nasty.

Sir Garold Lineker is alright, but too demonstrative with the body language imo. They have to use a wide angle shot to stop him lurching off the side of the screen all the time. He should watch some old videos of Desmond Lynan's eyebrows and take notes.
