We’re having mashed potatoes for dinner. For tea. The pm is having plant-based ‘meatballs’. I’m having Richmond vegetarian sausages. ‘Sausages’. We’re also having sauerkraut, and I bought some sauce called ‘Savoury Sauce’ from Ikea.

Which doesn’t necessarily reflect well on their usual “meat” sausages. |

Morning
I got electrocuted twice today. Once in surprise. The second time cos I thought I'd double check the bedroom light switch did actually give me a shock. It did. Luckily (I think, any physics nerds can confirm) I was wearing rubber Nike sliders (cos I iz well cool).
So I've isolated all the lights in the house at the electricians suggestion, who is coming round in the morning. It's like a practice run for when Vlad pulls the plug on our power supply, albeit I've left the heating and sockets on, cos it's cold and the world cup is on TV innit.
OTTM, no.

A long long day today. 10yo daughter had her friend over to 'play', because friend's mum had to make a mercy dash an hour down the road to Leeds because her dad was unwell. Took the girls to the park, then the cinema to watch the Matilda musical, we all suspended our disbelief for a bit and ate £25 worth of pick n mix, a good movie. Four stars, at least. Came home for tea and medals and they both passed out exhausted on the sofa, felt a lot like being a dad to a much younger kid for a wee while. Mixed feelings. Daughters friend picked up by estranged dad a couple of hours ago, seems like grandad has had a big, life-altering stroke of some kind. Everyone in bed now except me, drinking neat rum and counting my blessings. Night night all
(I posted a version of this about an hour ago but the board was being a little bitch. If this has come through twice then sorry/not sorry)
