It's pretty good. Not as good as losing to 4th tier Bradford City over two legs in the League Cup Semi-Final, but it will do. They have lost 7 Third Round ties in a row. Not that I am counting you understand.

Why did Bobby Satsuma never get elected? - he was beaten by Jerry Mandarin.

It was an odd game. V***a never looked in danger of not winning. 80% possession, but I think they were coasting. Serves em right.
Ahhh, The Magic of The Cup. It's actually been a great third round. Any match with no VAR (ie. Not at a prem ground) is 100% better before it's even kicked off.

Genuine question. Why do people hate VAR?
Because they can't blame the ref?

Genuine question. Why do people hate VAR? Because they can't blame the ref? I personally think the goal line technology is a very good addition ie/ did it cross the line for a goal? Although ask Sheffield United fans about that, who had a 'goal' one metre over the line against V***a, but the referees 'bleep watch' to notify him it was a goal had malfunctioned so he wasn't allowed to use his eyes and give the goal. Although funny, ask Germany fans about the 'over the line goal' at the world cup, which looks, at best, dodgy. Men, with their human faults, sitting in a room deciding, with no consistency, different decisions each match based on how they see it? Just let the ref get it wrong/cheat/decide on his own how he sees it. It was supposed to be for 'howlers' eg. Henry cheating Ireland out of the World Cup with a blatant handball. This is how it was 'sold'. Lol, hmmm.... "VAR IS GOOD SAY SKY AND EA SPORTS". But now it's all the other stuff, offsides, handballs/penalties, a possible foul (subjective) on the half way line in the build up to a goal that the ref deemed ok. I'm personally not a fan. In fact I detest it. It would take a (further) small essay to say exactly what and why. Maybe I'll try tomorrow when I'm supposed to be working. Anyway, I know many people like it so *shrugs* Tldr: jumpers for goalposts, grrr, things are worse these days, this new modern music is all bang bang bang etc

Anyway, I know many people like it so *shrugs* Tldr: jumpers for goalposts, grrr, things are worse these days, this new modern music is all bang bang bang etc Old man shouting at the moon. VAR is here to stay. There is no point complaining about it. Only about facets of the implementation. From attending shitloads of Championship matches I would say the standard of refereeing is extremely poor below the top level. I am not a big fan of refs giving randomly terrible decisions. The worst game was at Cardiff in 2018 (I think). The ref randomly gave a penalty against us at the first corner, ruled out a perfectly fine Cardiff goal, and gave two more extremely soft penalties, plus a red card each (their's was deserved). That is 5 out of 6 big decisions just obviously wrong. Offsides are generally pretty random. As are bookings. Some times a pull back is 100% a booking sometimes it isn't. I am very much in favour of VAR in the Championship. I don't think it will help us, but it would hopefully reduce the random errors refs make around goals. It's pretty embarrassing to have games like Sheffield Wednesday v Newcastle yesterday where 2 of the 3 goals were clearly offside. If games are on TV technology needs to be used which doesn't allow glaring errors to be made by the officials and not corrected. I am still bitter about the 2001 League Cup final. With VAR we would have had a second penalty and also Liverpool would have been down to ten men after the first penalty. It was an absolutely shocking challenge which left O'Connor crippled for the rest of the game and out for weeks afterwards.

At least I am not a dirty* Leeds fan.
Also it doesn't matter whether you like VAR or not. It is here to stay. The only response is to learn to accept it, even if you will never love it.
* Nasty Leeds (?). So difficult to decide.

Thankfully, I too am not a dirty* Leeds fan. (spits on floor)
I know you're right, it's here to stay. I guess I could cancel my subscription, but then I'd lose the Test cricket. Maybe I will cancel, that'll show em. Or not.
*it's definitely dirty Leeds. I slightly softened towards then under Bielsa, but good god, that awful whinging yank with the girls name is a massive twat.

Oops. I thought you were when you took the piss out of Boro recently.
It's possibly the Pigs or the Blades. Less likely is Barnsley, Bradford or Udds. I'm worried it's a big team. So many Liverpool and Man United fans.

Oops. I thought you were when you took the piss out of Boro recently. You don't need to be a Leeds fan to take the piss out of Boro. It's open house. Especially after yesterday's performance.
