Yesterday I awoke with a painful swollen hand. It progressively worsened throughout the day. This morning it is like the soon-to-explode paw of a cartoon cat that has been pumped up by a mischievous mouse. Idiopathic swollen cartoon hand syndrome. 111 told me to go to a pharmacist, the pharmacist did an impression of a tradesman about to add a zero to the estimate he gave, and sent me to a Minor Injuries Unit. I fully expect not to survive long enough to read all of the novel I'm about to start. If I'd thought about it properly, I'd have brought a book of short stories. |

I downloaded New Zealand Story on the Switch today. A good game - every bit as good as I remember.
I’m now in a craft beer bar. It feels like more of a bar than a pub. Hofmeister is back. I had a half pint of Hofmeister Weiße.
This bar has a Guinness machine - like a robot that the bar warden places a can into. It then transfers the drink into a glass in an extremely modern way. More than modern. Futuristic.
I’m now in a toilet …

We are sharing the steak, although she is getting most of it. Cooked extra rare to suit her tastes, but I’m liking it.
Tuesday, the vet is coming to us.
