Just been watching The Theory of Everything and I've got to halfway and I can't bear to watch anymore. Too much pain many parallels with my own existence (excepting the enormous grasp of physics). I need a break from it ... An excellent film.

We arrived, the train was insane but quite quick, we loaded our gear onboard and had orientation and rules. I felt like saying "where we're going we don't need no rules" but persuaded myself that as we had only just met the owner it might be wise to appear 'decent'. We sped up the canal at a heady 4 mph and went through a lock (how to use a windlass was useful) then signed the 'I won't burn flood/crash/mangle the boat' form and tied up for the night. Tomorrow looks interesting as long as the weather holds, we are at Shobnall Fields awaiting duck and Swan attacks at the dawn chorus. Kate.
