Left house early as 3 grandkids + 2 dogs (1 doubly incontinent) + 1 PM who is trying to give up the fags, would make my WFH routine a living hell. Better off driving 120 miles to sit in a lab office. As a win-double, it's curry night, so won't be home til 9ish, by which time everyone still at home will be knackered, or murderized.

Fish fingers in pitta bread with tartare sauce. Boodiful.
Pm and child have gone to the in laws. I'm joining them on Saturday.
I do actually need to do some work this afternoon unfortunately, but there will be takeaway for dinner. Kebab possibly, or maybe pizza so there is leftovers for tomorrow's lunch. Hmm.

I have extended the lifespan of my work laptop by up to 5 years.
How?
Well it was running SQL Express 2012 which is no longer supported.
One of my programs demands SQL Express to run. They said in future I need a newer version.
I downloaded SQL2019. It will not install. It gets 75% through then says a DB file is missing and it can't go any further.
I downloaded the file and another update . Still no go.
Absolutely infuriating. At this point the expected lifespan of the laptop was about 5 seconds..
However I was able to install SQL2014 and 2017, which has 5 years support, which is longer than the laptop will last.
Especially if it refuses downloads again.
