It's just off the South Circular at Barnes. There is a memorial there.
I didn't make a special trip. I had to go to a client in sarf Landan a few times and the only practical route was via the South Circular.
If you had to use the South Circular every day driving fast into a tree would seem perfectly reasonable.

The Boomtown Rats were not very good.
They had approximately 1.5 good songs. And even 1 of those isn't that pleasant.
And the other sounds like a bad Springsteen cover.
I once bought a best of. I am honestly surprised it wasn't a 7" single.
It did not make me want to check out the rest of their songs.

He's living the life of luxury on the secret tropical island where "they" go when they've given enough service to the Lizard people.
There's loads of them all lapping up the good life. JFk, Lennon, Robert Maxwell, that one from The Manic Street Preachers, to name just a few.

I did once see Bob Geldof at a Suede* concert ayt the Alexandra Palace. He waa in a little VIP area. There may have been other famous people there, but I didn't recognize them. I did not call him a cunt, though it was tempting, particularly as the concert was over so they couldn't exactly eject me.
I should have asked for my money back on the Boomtown Rats cd.
* perhaps unsurprising. If I see someone well known it is likely to be at football or a Suede concert.

Evening all, not much happening after last night, left quite early this morning around 8 so we were up at 7, chucky down rain again in the afternoon so unfortunately we had to park up at lock 20 just outside of Fradley Junction. (Edit begrudgingly) I suppose I had better fess up, I dropped the mooring chain in the canal earlier on due to freezing cold hands, I quickly took my coat and top off in the rain manning up in the cold plunged my arm into the canal, no bottom! Bye bye chain until the nearest Chandlers, so now we're using pins at the front and chain singular at the back. £12 ish out of my pocket for a new one, needless to say I am going to be ever mindful from now on. Pk'd at 3 ish for night due to someone chucking buckets of water in our direction and now we have a low battery so no TV or charge ports for the night and torch light only. Early night then? Kane/Kate..

I’d have though running the diesel a few hours would have your batteries nicely charged by now?

Drunkbuddy on the blower. He’s off to a quiz night tonight at his local, run by a woman he works with. He found a copy of all the questions and answers she’d helpfully left on their office copier, and is in a dilemma as to how many he needs to get wrong to not make it obvious.

I’d have though running the diesel a few hours would have your batteries nicely charged by now? true we could run the engine but we haven't increased our fuel onboard yet as 'Dave' the owner had stated that there would be enough for the journey plus some spare, we didn't wish to temp fate and test that and it was chucking down. Two and a bit years after a covid wedding were off to Edinburgh for a few days as honeymoon, any recommendations?
Will take whisky, food or activity ideas. We already have the small child so sleep for a full night might be on the cards.

Have you been to Edinburgh before?
If not there's plenty of tourist stuff.
Arthur's Seat, The Royal Mile (which is where the BIG whisky shop is)., Sandy Bahookie, a castle, some appalling gift shops.
Leith Walk is fashionable these days. Lots of overpriced cafes, not so many druggies. There's a horrible new shopping centre at the south end.
