Got a brass whale oil lamp from local antique store. Straight from a house clearance the wicks are still moist so used in recent history. Need to go catch me whale to refill it.

Thanks amipalActually - in my early morning investigations into Gonzo Games - I discovered that, even though Wipe out was credited to Steve Howard and ‘Dr Gonzo’, the co-founder of the company was actually a Paul Smith who (possibly) disappeared, taking all the company’s money. Who was Dr Gonzo? Where did he go? I am extremely interested in this.

MRW I push the green button Finished three very painful procedures, the last reaching "agony" level at 11.45 a.m - I'd taken 10ml of Oramorph* an hour before that. As for pain relief, a mug of tea, Paracetamol and dozing... I don't have a green button to dispense it*, but this guy's "Recovering from back surgery. Not gonna lie, I was pretty scared going in but I'm doing OK so far." I hope the guy was told the side effects of overuse.

I hope he doesn't throw out his back again trying to relieve himself after the side effects. Might need something for the pain then.

Hmmmnnnn. Battery charger (big Dave) says the battery is fully charged. He is full of shit, so I told Dave that it was a 6V motorcycle battery and he's now charging it. After a couple of hours I will switch him to 12V mode and the job's a good 'un.
Top Tip. *taps nose*

Wordle 668 6/6

That could have been at least 2 other words, lucky boy

Lunch: 2 poached eggs on marmite toast, but one was a 'double yolker' (been getting loads of these recently since switching to eggs delivered from a local farm)
Picked up a box of PS vita games from a reseller on ebay before hols - they were described as 'imperfect or not working / for repair'. 35 games for £80. Cleaned them all up with contact cleaner and all work except one - so have been hammering through those round the pool last week. Special mentions to Child of Light (with all the DLC), Metal Gear HD remakes, and Everybody's Golf. Sold enough of the shitter ones that I'll never play at Cex this afternoon to buy Hogwarts legacy for the youngest

Wordle 668 6/6 ⬜⬜⬜⬜⬜ ⬜🟩🟩⬜🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩❕🔱 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 ⬜🟩🟩🟩🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 That could have been at least 2 other words, lucky boy Too true; I reckon after you get the score past ❕🔱getting the first letter is a choice between equally probable letters. Thus the score you get should be the score at ❕🔱line + 1...

Sounds like it's a game rockstar should have made but didn't.

Evening all.
Having recently acquired a GameCube from a friend, I’ve been playing through some games with my son. Super Monkey Ball 2 may be the perfect game for a six year old - he doesn’t care if the monkey falls, he still giggling like a loon. He’s very intrigued by the demo of Windwaker, but I reckon the controls may currently be beyond him. By a stroke of luck, this afternoon I found the full-game disc of Mario Kart Double Dash in a different game’s case. I know it’s not the best version of Mario Kart, but the boy has been thoroughly enjoying it.
TVblog: Race Around the World. Also the penultimate Picard.

Gamecube was one of the digital teats with which I weaned my oldest daughter onto video games. She loved Kirby's air ride (good luck getting a copy of that nowadays though for less than £150) and Pikmin I've got a Jap copy of Pikmin in the loft that I'll send you if you like - but you'll need a freeloader disk or to fit a region switch to the GC (menus are in Japanese, but easy enough to play with a guide)

And double thumbs up for Super Monkey Ball 2 - the best of the series by far. It was shit on the Wii and I couldn't bear to pay for it on Switch

... TVblog: Race Around the World. Also the penultimate Picard. I'm looking forward to the final Picard! Blacklist S1:E19. The Test S1:E7 - surprisingly enjoyable and actually making me feel pity for the Aussies and a little bit ashamed of their treatment after the Cape Town stupidity. At the time I wondered how many times they would be punished. Justin Langer and Steve Smith (who hadn't played at all during the Langer / Finch reconstruction period, when even their supporters despised them. Why? Because that Cape Town lunacy had destroyed the team's rep). So to get two centuries back to back at Edgebaston speaks volumes, but Archer vs Smith almost persuaded me to get a Sky sub. btw my research proposal was serious... Time for sleep...
