We’ve been going full-grey-water on the garden. Saving the water from baths/showers, then lugging a watering can up and down the stairs.
Great in this heat.

My work was exceptionally hot this morning. We had windows open etc.
Turns out someone had put the central heating on. Leftover couscous and veg pakora for dinner. Fusion cuisine at its finest.
I'm very thirsty. Annoyingly I've no tonic water or limes/lemons. Beer will have to do.

The kit in our labs needs 100s of K£ of cooling, but the old system left the humidity too high to prevent corrosion, so we went with ‘adiabatic’. Air is now so dry that after 1 day in the lab my eyeballs have started to resemble prunes.
If anyone has a spare tonne of weed they need drying in a hurry, hit me up.

Evening
So a few weeks ago, our house of five occupants was reduced to four with the sad passing of the younglings goldfish. The fact that it bought the farm two days after I had been in charge when they went away camping was a pure coincidence. I beat all charges on that one.
I've just been informed that from tomorrow evening we will be back up to the full quota of five occupants, because apparently a kitten is moving in. Was I consulted on this? Not a jot.
It would seem my days of ruling with an iron fist, like Phil Schofield, are over.
The matriarch have taken over. I am now obsolete.
*wipes away solitary tear*
