I read on Telegram. Ok, I didn't. But I did read that the "Hamas" rocket that hit the hozzy after misfiring hit a pile of munitions they had stored there - hence such a big explosion. But tbh. It was probably Israel. We'll never know. I don't think it is likely it hit munitions. The bomb seems to hit outside the hospital and to have exploded in a large group sheltering in the grounds. I don't think munitions would be stored like that. It may explain the high casualties from a relatively small rocket (if this is the case). Also whoever did it it wasn't Hamas. The Israeli claim is that it was a Palestinian Islamic Jihad rocket. PIJ aren't Hamas. They are two separate groups and conflating and confusing them is unlikely to help. They do have similar aims, origins and methods, both coming out of the Muslim Brotherhood, but they aren't identical. I hope Biden has seen some independent analysis and evidence. I'm not sure it maters though. Plenty of people have already made their minds up about it. |

Also the hospital had been hit twice by the Israelis previously. And they had specifically ordered its evacuation.
I'm not sure that is in their favour.
It does make it seem less likely there were munitions there. I know it's possible they just weren't hit the first couple of times.
What's happened is appalling anyway, whoever did it and whether or not it was fully intentional.

I find myself agreeing with Sheep. I have seen the footage now and it definitely wasn't a fuel/air bomb as someone suggested earlier. Also, the Israelis seem quite good (?) at telling people to naff off before they do the dirty*. They didn't this time. I just don't know, why can't they just sort it out at Tebay?

I am not. I have made a whisky sauce for part of my dinner. I have too much of a cough to go out tonight. It would have been an endurance event rather than enjoyable. Otherwise I would be in a pub now. I am not feeling sorry for myself. I had a much better time falling asleep in a warm bath. It was lovely. I am considering whether to have a beer or a whisky. Undecided. |
