Some Indian friends tried some of my magic mushrooms and all 4 of them saw gnomes wandering around. Culturally it seemed strange that they'd see gnomes.

The Smile (Thom Yorke's not Radiohead band) have announced a new album and a tour. As they are in Brum on an international weekend I am quite keen to see them. I still have my ticket for the cancelled 2020 TY solo show. They are playing in March, pretty much the only time I couldn't go. I am struggling to find good gigs for next year, I fancied the Liam Gallagher tour but sold out too fast.

I'm seeing Suede and the Manics in Cardiff in July. Gruff Rhys in Bristol in Feb - if I remember to buy the ticket. I'm sure there will be more.

At least half the murrayfield crowd are lawyers, so good luck with that. Seriously, fingers crossed.

I’ve just been playing Mediaeval Total War 2 on the train. In terms of northern Europe I captured Caernavon. I captured Angers. I did not capture Bruges …
I was able to capture Cairo. I went on a crusade. Five eighths of my army deserted on the way there. I landed with just a general (and his bodyguard) as well as, I think, a town militia and a unit of spearmen. I only had two horsemen at the end - hacking it out in Cairo Central Square.
It was extremely thrilling.

And after editing it was still quite a boring story.
Exciting to me.

I could also tell you about Spy Richard, and what he’s doing in Inverness. There isn’t a huge amount going on otherwise. Lots of brigands and rebels. The Portguese popped up a couple of times in north Wales but I chased them back into the sea. We’re on ok terms now. The Pope was pretty positive about me capturing Cairo, but I didn’t get a lot of money for it …

Evening
Been playing Dying Light 2. Spent an hour or two trying to do a mission and repeatedly getting torn to shreds by infected. Had just started looking on the internet to see how I should do it and someone joined my game. I'd left the settings on 'public' (classic Tuffers). He/she then proceeded to hold my hand through the entire mission with the patient of a saint. Doing stuff like jumping up and down near to where I should be going (I'd be facing the other way) and taking out any monsters who tried to kill me.
Once completed, I did the honourable thing and saved the game and logged off.
So it's true, there are good people out there in the world.
