Pref.Mam. is in Durham for 2 nights and I'm am once again in my "what takeaway should I get?" paralysis. Ideally it would be something we don't normally have, which is donner kebab* but I fancy cod and chips. Cue 6 hours of indecision followed by a cheap burger and chips from a place that is still open. *proper lamb not that German stuff. The heart wants what the heart needs. Wise words.

I think I’m having brown rice for dinner. Actually it’s yellow rice because when I was cooking it yesterday I added saffron. I’m also going to put in some spinach and tomato and some beans, and garlic and olive oil. Maybe some vinegar. A kind of rice salad. I might add some halloumi too.
I know it doesn’t sound very exciting but I’m looking forward to it.

Went out to empty the plastics and glass and cans...
Nae green bin. Came back in. Announced this fact. The child pipes up "oh yeah, Granny couldn't find the green bin last week"
FFS. Not going round the neighbours tonight. Hunt the bawbag or phone the council?

The benefit of having a communal bin shed is I no longer have to worry about remembering to put the bin out.
The downside is I now have no way of knowing what day of the week it is

I put my rubbish out in the communal bin. I noticed we have gained an extra green bin recently. Sweet.
Also it's fresh out.

Laphroaig Cairdeas Pedro Ximenez casks. Intriguing. It's got a raisiny flavour to the classic Laphhroaig peat. Like someone has added brandy to my whisky.. I'm not sure i'd like it every time, but it's a good taste. Needs a bit of water in it.
