Itβs cold. Itβs cold outside anyway. Freezing.
Would be nice to have some snow though. Ice-skating on the Thames, tobogganing down Parliament Hill.
Ideally the jet-stream will collapse. Or the gulf-streamβ¦ But you canβt say that nowadays.

It snowed here yesterday and now it's all frozen, making the pavements lethal. I am going to try out the new woolly hat I got for Christmas. It has built in Bluetooth earphones and a light on the front with 3 different settings. Pretty sure the locals will declare me king when they see it.

-7 overnight, now -4. No broadband as it's so cold. Happens randomly. Luckily scubar is coming round on Monday to fit FTTP. Will need to use the hotspot on my phone as I'm WFH.

How does the cold stop broadband working? It's Scotland. They have to do a pagan ritual every morning to the Old Gods of the Internet. It's too cold to get the wicker man burning this morning

Not sure why. It's always been an intermittent thing that only happens when it's subzero.
By the time they send someone out to look at it the weather is warmer and the internet is back up. Happened more with ADSL, less so with fttc.
Unless they have an openreach engineer sitting in a van outside waiting on me to chap the window and tell him to look now they'll never fix it.

Games
I played one game of Fortnite very late with a not sober Shenguin. I had to rescue him early doors and I killed 11 players and then hot booted as my broadband went off briefly. I think we finished 3rd. I was annoyed as I don't often kill double figures and might have been on for up to 15 kills. I don't think they were all bots either. At least a couple appeared to be inept in a human way.
BooksI finished The War on Heresy by R I Moore. It is a dry history book and pretty interesting. His conclusion. We don't know anything about 12th century heretics, especially the Cathars. Except that they weren't called Cathars and mostly weren't heretics.
Four stars

Morning chaps, what is the word?
Since weβre quoting local temperatures, it is -1 here. Didnβt check earlier, so it may well have been colder than that.
Filmblog: watched Force 10 from Navarone last night. Been yeeeeears since Iβve seen it, and Iβd forgotten most of it. Good cast - Harrison Ford, Edward Fox, Robert Shaw, Carl Weathers, Richard Kiel. BOOM!
PMblog: not a day goes by of late where she doesnβt seem to have a new ailment. Yesterday, it was a strained muscle across the abdomen. I know weβre both in our 40s now, but decrepitude seems to be gaining traction.

my broadband went off briefly Probably the cold. It was back quickly enough so that I would still have been alive except the game kills you if your broadband disappears. I suspect this is to stop cheating. It's annoying if you are doing something online when the broadband crashes. It seems to go off for a minute or two quite often late at night. I suspect it does it at other times as well, but I don't notice.

You can buy switches that turn your connection off and on again so you slightly lag and jump about so folk can't shoot you. Mostly used by FPS cheats like BabyFark and his brother.
