Morning
Slept in late then made a delicious brunch for the fam blud of chestnut mushrooms fried in butter, tinned plum tomatoes and toast.
Tonight its sausages and mash for tea, wahoo! *punches air*. Bangers, mash, white cabbage, carrots, cheat aunt Bessies Yorkies, gravy.
Last night I watched more Yewtoob videos of mentalists playing RDR2. Some of the 'hidden secrets' they reveal are ridiculous. Go to a certain part, up some cliff/mountain that doesn't even look possible to climb, at a certain time of the day to see x, y, z. How do they know this shit? Must have worked on the game, shirley.
Anyway, for the first time in about three years, I've blown the cobwebs off my RDR2 disc and booted it up. Easily influenced? Moi? Lolz.
(I NEED TO SEE THE UFO 🛸!!!)

Then they have to advance to a point where local space travel is normal,
Then they have to create intergalactic space travel and it needs to become common place,
This all would put them 3-5000 years in advance of where we are as a species at the moment.

So an alien civilisation would have had to reach higher levels of learning far faster than we have. The universe is approximately 13.7 billion years old. The sun is only 4.6billion years old and is not one of the older stars. Life on earth has probaby only been possible for about 3.8 billion years. There's an almost 10 billion year gap for life to develop earlier elsewhere. Plus there's nothing to suggest complexity couldn't have developed faster. If you look at the size just of the Milky Way it seems unlikely that the solar system and earth offer uniquely lucky circumstances. |

I understand the point you are making but time doesn't quite work in that way, universal time/longevity is set for the most part but planet, star system, galaxy time frames are variable. If a species survives the early years of the universe it would most likely evolve quickly in the continuing millennia, one from a later time frame may take longer, it isn't about evolution but more a case of technological advancement, if you look where we are now and how long it would take us to travel space 'normally' we're still talking 1000-3000 years. |
