My tried amd trusted plan of going for a dump has worked. No engineer, but a text to say he is on the way.

Thinking about it there's probably a gap in the market for tradesman who, when they come to your house, they talk about Baudelaire, or fine art, or cooking or something.

That would be even worse. Ok for Rolling or TenthEnemy but no one else wants to have to give a lecture on Byzantine art just to get a ball cock fixed.

Why don't you just get Shenguin to fix it?

Does Shenguin have a pcb to fix an E91 error on an AEG Washing Machine? No. No he does not. The machine needs a new circuit board. I know this. I heard it break and can read the error code. The repair man not only has the board, he knows how to fit it and his repair is guaranteed to work.

I've been on the phone to my idiot colleague for 1 hour 40 minutes. I had to give her some feedback about her tendency to take over conversations in meetings, which isn't always helpful or appropriate. Her response was (after she'd calmed down) that she's just playing "doubles advocate".

My colleague also said that she'd recently discovered that it's 'lead balloon' and not 'leg balloon'

The repair man has been and gone. The machine is not repaired.
On the plus side the circuit board is now ordered. The one i told them about last Sunday. Apparently telling AEG that you have an error does not mean they send the man out with the parts to fix that error.
He was at least suitably impressed i had the football on. That part went well.

It's standard practice i think to require two visits. No matter what you say they don't actually believe you until a repairman has seen it. Garages are the same. They won't order a part until they see the car. Even if it's something like a wing mirror. It's a bit annoying when basically all he did was read the error code and say the pcb needs replacing. I can read the error code It means hanging around another half day next week.

My choices in the GE: whocanivotefor.co.uk/elections/parl.sheffield-hallam.2024-07-04/sheffield-hallam/Olivia Blake - Labour - Probably just a nicer Tory. Has put a lot of crap through my letterbox. Sam Chapman - Rejoin EU - Might look harder at these guys at the next GE, but seems too early now to start momentum for rejoining. Andrew Cowell - Social Democratic Party - had a skim of their manifesto, look like a poor man's Reform and probably a bunch of racists. Isaac Howarth - Tory - Cunt. Jason Leman - Green Party - came third last time and has yet to put any crap through my letter box or hassle me at home. Has academic credentials. Seems the least offensive of the bunch. Shaffaq Mohammed - Lib Dems - has put a horrific amount of crap through my letterbox, is therefore unlikely to really care about environmental concerns. Still haven't forgiven these bunch for the great Clegg student fee betrayal. Mo Moui-tabriz- Workers Party of Britain - Galloway stooge.

On a lighter note, I've been to the supermarket and ogled loads of MEAT. I've even brought some home with me. Tomorrow I plan to fondle it in some sauce, then finally taste it.

When you give them the error code and they don't believe you... Rips ma Knittin' But tbf, they probably deal with all sorts of idiots. July 3 before they can fit it. Bastards I could have sent them a photo of the error code if it helped. And their website allowed it. There's not much point in asking for the error code if they ignore the information. The whole point of these things is supposedly to make it easier. The site to book a repair is a shitty mess as well. Two factor authentication needed to pay them £169. I'm a captive audience as it is newish, but out of warranty.
