I've seen Scotland in this position before. Desperately needed a goal v Swizerland in Euro 96 in the last few minutes. Never looked that likely to get it. A brave yet, ineffectual performance seems best. And/or desperately needed Big Dave the Tory not to let himself get nutmegged by a trundler. Iirc Mccoist had loads of chances in the Switzerland game and predictably missed them all except the flukey screamer. Should have been more than 1 up by then. |

Lack of interest aside. I couldn't watch football every week. Fair play to you if you do. Fuck that stress. As a live product football is much more exciting. Mostly. The combination of adrenalin and stress is quite addictive. Even if you support a mostly rubbish team. |

Plucky old Scotland. It was never a penalty and the Hungarians looked far more dangerous going forward.
If that Scottish lad had been more positive in the box instead of jumping into the defender, maybe, just maybe.

Looked a pen to me, but I thought he was offside anyway from the through ball. But they never showed the replay of that so can't be sure.
Anyway, my prediction of an England v Scotland final is looking a bit iffy now.

Looked a pen to me (knee in the back of his thigh) but also looked offside - perhaps they knew he was off so didn't check for a pen.

Not for me Clive.
He jumps massively left i stead of going for the ball.
If you run away from the ball and go diwn in a heap i think that's called looking for it.
It was maybe one of those where the VAR wouldn't overturn the on pitch decision.
He should have been looking to shoot first time, not to go down in a heap.
The offside was pretty close.

England have a great chance to win it. A bit underwhelming so far but room for improvement and some of the other favourites are not exactly pulling up trees either.
