A very fine quote from Shearer's commentary, "Our strikers are having trouble grabbing Saka's balls.". I recall Terrald Butcher a few years ago saying 'the players have been slipping a lot in the first half, they'll have to put on their rubbers at half time'. Personal favourite though was Rio Ferdinand: 'England have done well so far, but they can't rest on their mantelpiece'.

Manic Street Preachers are usually pretty dependable live. A good bunch of lads.

Morning all.
TVblog: Blake’s 7. Blake can be quite ruthless. Avon’s the best though - so sceptical, so mercenary.
Filmblog: watched Beverly Hills Cop Axel F last night. Most enjoyable! 4* Going to have to go back and watch the other ones now.
Weatherblog: it’s rained this morning; hard. Lots of standing water on the roads.

Morning!
My left wing mirror fell off on the A30 yesterday at the precise moment England equalised. I have angered the gods. Perhaps I did not spend enough at Gloucester services.

Morning
Bleurgh. Bit bleary eyed today. Might have had a bit too much of the old grog. Oh well, it's what Lord Ivan, Sir Saka, and St. Jude would have wanted.
Not much else going on.
OTTM, raining.

Hello We were checking in for tomorrows flight and putting money on travel cards etc.
Was seeing how cash went onto a Wise Card from my account, it fucking did it without confirming I wanted to do it.
Immediately putting me overdrawn. Twats.
The pm put money in my account instead of the card, but fucks sake.
TV. The England Game, end of the Netherlands game, Panchinko.
Games. Soul Caliber and Ridge Racer 4.

Yesterday was longer than strictly necessary.
At lunchtime I was rear-ended in Walsall. I was going to Mozza's by Junction 9 on Walsall's old ground for fuel. There was a queue round the ring road. At one point as we stopped I was partly watching the car behind in the mirror when the van behind him lurched in to the back of him. I had an excellent view of the car behind being pushed into me. Fortunately it was all at low speed. There was no damage to my car. Though the middle car had its grille and number plate damaged at the front and some damage at the back. Nothing serious, but it could easily reach £2k to repair. The van driver was apolo and it will all get sorted, but i may have to provide a statem to insurers.
It delayed my trip to Cardiff a bit. As did the traffic in Cardiff centre. Instead of being parked for 4 and watching game I listened to the first half on the car radio in the car park. Decided it was a typical England game and went. in to Cardiff Castle. Caught updates via internet.
It was a lovely sunny evening throughout Suede's set. About 10.30 it poured though. A damp end to the Manic's set. Loads left early.. I got a good soaking there and walking back in to the centre. Which was surprisingly busy. Loads of amphibious Welsh not put off by the rain. Finding the car was tricksy. The shopping centre I'd parked in was closed. I had to wander round to find the open entrance.. I did make some new friends on the way. 3 young Enlish Asian women who were lost trying to find the same car park. They asked me for directions. I was sort of able to help and we found the open entrance.

It is the great British Grand Prix today. Russell, Hamilton and Norris in a 4-way slugfest with the evil Max Von Stapler.

So Cavendish breaks the record* for number of stage wins in the Tour de Francs, England get to the semi-finals of the Euros and Hamilton wins the British Grand Prix and we now have a Labour Government.
Coincidence?
*Admittedly the day before the Election, though it was obvs.
