Are you claiming a pension whilst also working? That usually only favours the tax man. No, I'm retired. Well then go Mamma Bear with them on the phone and demand they liaise with HMRC over your tax code. When they patiently explain they wrote out to you several times regarding this matter make sure you guffaw as necessary.

They did say that they would find out why I have been taxed so much. My other main company pension have been paying the full amount. HMRC recently sent me a Β£300 tax rebate.

I look forward to retiring in 24 years. If I can afford it.

Though sheep, I just remembered your internet speeds are Gash. Would take forever to upload. Though your Synology can do it overnight I believe. I have the best internet I can get. Up to 61MBS per second. Though in practice i get 15-25. It's fine for streaming in 4K. A bit slow on big downloads, but generally ok. I can't upgrade. The problem is the local BT Box. It was upgraded to fibre relatively early and consequently it is limited to the tech from a while ago. I don't really want Cloud storage. Is that odd? I want to be in charge of my own data. It helps to have it locally for streaming music. I do not want to be in a position where if the router or local internet fall over I can only listen to a very limited choice of music. I have an Office 365 account already I could use, but I don't. It's not that I don't trust these things. Everything at work is backed up online. When I win the lottery I will have a much better set up in my lair*. A proper rack of hard drives and lots of ethernet and in wall cabling. I fancy a Kaleidoscape server . So I will need good internet * I am thinking underground lair with Resident Evil Mansion (minus zombies) above it. I'll probably disable the locks, but who knows?

I've managed to go 5 years without ever contributing anything to the school parents WhatsApp group. Today is testing my patience though. Several of the mums are complaining about the lack of communications from the school since the end of July I.e. when it closed for the summer holidays. One of them has just said "If we don't receive a newsletter by the end of the week I'll be seriously concerned"
Fucking morons

Lots of hard drives are all very well until your big house fire.
You need hard drives off site as well, or cloud. I keep meaning to work out actual costs for Amazon Glacier. I will after I lose all my data.
Argos currently have office 365 home for Β£50 with free McAfee for 5 devices as well. Though McAfee is not as good as it used to be.

I get office via my work login, but I can't really store BluRay rips and DJ mixes on that 1TB.

Plus also every Radiohead bootleg I could find. I've actually listened to all of them as well. A lot during lockdown.
Also NIN, REM and Queen. A few others as well. And 40 years worth of record buying

Streaming ripped cd/records from a NAS instead of having to change discs. Like Spotify that you curated, and better quality.

Dunno why I'm defending Sheep's life choices.
I need to get back into ripping my CDs.

And 40 years worth of record buying So duplicating something you already own? Yes. in a much more accessible format. Plus almost all the live concerts are FLAC files to start with. I love the NAS. Wouldn't be without it. I can see everything in order neatly sorted. It doesn't shit everything up like iTunes does. I set up an ipod for my mum years ago. While the music quality is fine it's cataloguing system is the work of the devil.

"Two people on Mike Lynch yacht suffocated in cabin, source says" Is that better than drowning? Passing out before dying, some hope you *might* be rescued? Christ. It's grim. Must have known they were trapped with no chance of getting out through the ship. Depending on the size of the air pocket they could have survived for quite a while in it. On the plus side they would have drifted off fairly gently in the end apparently.

The media still seems obsessed with wealth. People drown at sea every day and it gets little headline news. But a few millionaires on an expensive yacht drown and the media are all over it.

are we seriously on day 2 hard drive talk? Thought I had a hard drive error about half an hour ago. Then i remembered I'd moved all the music off it as I was going to do something else with it. Panic over.
