I need a powerful cosmic intervention. I’ve occasionally visualised my workplace situation as the administrative deck of Max Zorin’s airship in ‘A view to a kill’. I imagine the two people causing me problems leaving the room and walking down some steps, which turn into a ramp. They fall off the airship ... I see it as more the bridge on the Titanic. |

Last night I watched an episode of Better Call Saul, where A Thing happened at the end. This morning I went on YouTube, and my home screen was full of videos of that exact scene. It's almost enough to make someone slightly paranoid

the smell of fake strawberries fills the air… I am very much not a fan of fake strawberry smells. When I first started work 4 of us went for a drink after work one Friday. Bill, who was about 60 had recently been to Belgium and he had brought back some strawberry flavoured snuff which he got out and shared. It was ok. It gives a brief, but very pleasant high. He left about 7 and I thought no more about it. Two of us stayed out until just before 11. Again this was ok. Until I woke up the next morning. I had a hangover and the taste of artificial strawberry stuck in my nose. I felt mildly sick every time I breathed all day and part of the Sunday. Since then I have not been a fan of strawberry flavour. I am still in touch with the young lady I had been boozing with and she still occasionally takes the piss 26 years later. |

Mind you problems don't go away. I've got mutating zombies coming at me thick and fast. I hope to find some BIG GUNS in the game. That pistol is dire. I'd get better results using a ripe banana on ze enemy.

I'm using the upgraded riot pistol but it's not helping. There doesn't seem to be "old codger" difficulty setting. So I'm stuck at the moment. For some reason I thought Dead Space was PS4 only but found it on xbox. That has story mode to fall back on if I get stuck as I no doubt will at some point. |

LB Re your staffing issue. A) Are they doing the job they were hired for? B) Have you been through the usual warning/discussion/first conversation? C) Are they happy go lucky on the outside and a complete mess on the inside? If they are not doing the job they are paid for and play the 'but I'm your friend' card with others they shouldn't be working in the job they are in, explain to them in a stern dressing down after stating categorically the number of times you have spoken with them that they are now on a final notice, make it loud enough to be heard by others but not to be rude with it. If all else fails, gripes go upwards. (That or you could try pulling it if it makes you feel better)! I appreciate this, but there is a policy I have to work with. I am going into the policy.
