Football chat. Now the world cup is over and I'm *mostly* over England's heartbreaking exit, I think it's probably my favourite world cup followed by 2002. What's everybody else's WC of choice? 2002 was great, mainly because I was drunk by 10am most days.

@bloggiesmalla Car handling gets better as you upgrade the Magnum Opus. Plus you get used to it a bit more with experience.

I was a football obsessed nine year old during 1990 and that, coupled with our semi final defeat on penalties, means it will always be the special world cup for me even though purists slated it for being a defensive-minded tournament.

I can't say that I've been able to follow the various World Cups as for many years I had no access to television. I've enjoyed this one as well as 2010 (because South Africa). Of earlier ones, 1982 stands out to me as it was the first time I was quasi able to understand what was going on. We were on a family holiday with no television, so I was listening with my football-mad father (who otherwise completely failed to pass his passion on to his children) on the radio, and for the first time I was able to follow the action with interest.

tenthenemy I would also need a suitable charity. Have there been any set up for gaming addiction to provide commodes to fortnite players? Or, if we're all having a moment of honesty, alcohol awareness might be apt..

No TV? I also take it I've missed a south African link somewhere along the way! The football in 2010 was generally awful, incredible atmosphere though.

Apart from '02 the two that stick in my mind the most are Italia 90, for the same reasons as babyfark, and France 98, as I was old enough to watch the games in pubs (using a sweet fake id).
All the others sort of blur into one.

What's everybody else's WC of choice? 1970 with probably the best England and Brazil teams ever, also France '98 when I was in Paris at the time of the final, watched in a restaurant, the other patrons studiously ignored it, and then walked down the Champs-Élysées with the rest of Paris after the win

Not really. It's actually my own sofa when I'm in the last few at Fortnite. But you all already knew that.
