The switch has landed. Billy or Mary next door has it. Tremendous scenes.
How long do they take to charge? Do you need to have them in the dock to charge?

That is for the trial. You can charge them at a police station.

Preferred Mammal has been watching the news and had to ask what twerking was.
I'm ashamed to say that I didn't leave it at an explanation without a demonstration. It's one of these things that's easier to show.

Normans Sky update - I have a new ship! After weeks of searching I blundered into one almost by accident. 8 slots better than the last so I've been fettling it back in to shape. While doing so I found another wreck, though classed as a shuttle, it was more shopping trolley than starship. I left it. Devs seem to have patched the exploit I got excited about last week for farming larval cores by simply digging a hole under the nest and shooting the eggs from below. I attempted the same, only this time all the biological horrors spawned in the same hole as me, and not on the surface. Cue panic and pants shitting, followed by rapid demise. I have a feeling the devs may be tracking my posts here....
I consigned Artemis to the simulation, lying to him that it was a fresh system. Later he wouldn't shut up about it so I came clean and told him he was dead. This has shut him up for a while but I feel he'll be back. Probably will be pissed off that I've built my base on top of his grave but hey, it had a nice view.

So Octopath, tips and tricks for a first timer? Other than google a walkthrough, what should I be doing first?
Get the old gang back together?

Google a guide. Realise you fucked up your character builds to an un-salvageable degree. Start over. Have a little cry. Dump it when you catch up to where you were and play the next shiny new title that's been released instead.
Basically, the standard RPG experience.

If I remember rightly it's pretty much fully charged in the box, but you don't need to charge it in the dock. What game did you buy it with in the end? I started off playing it docked but now only ever use it handheld unless people are over for mario kart etc. I would say the intro into BOTW on my 4k TV is top 5 gaming moments for me now. Not sure if it would match up on handheld.

I've got botw. Cex near my work are out of Mario Odyssey but the two Glasgow shops have it. Won't get there till Thursday late opening though.
(I also have my nephew's Christmas present of overcooked 2 - but I can't really break the shrink wrap on that can I? No I can't. In fact I'm going to wrap it tonight to stop any temptation.)
Pals g/f is going to lend me MarioKart as well. Too many games - but a nice mixture.

Britains top ten motorways, brought to you by McDonalds. What are the top ten motorways anyway? The M25 barrier to keep out the mutants from the dead zone must be pretty high up. Quite a rude way to talk about London and its denizens, but I see your point. Top motorway for me is the M90, great views in the sections at either end particularly. Nice views also from the middle bit of the M62. If Liz Truss can transplant the middle section of the M62 into the middle of the M90 then I will consider not hating her so much. Lakes bit of the M6 might also be nice, though ive never been able to see through the mist to confirm this suspicion.

So Octopath, tips and tricks for a first timer? Other than google a walkthrough, what should I be doing first? Get the old gang back together? Not going all in on the dancer would be my advice. But it's difficult to know where one person's welcome challenge ends and another's frustration begins. I haven't used walkthroughs at all except for very minor problems, and I'm not sure how much use they are as this is an extremely flexible game with hundreds of variables. The only thing that can't be changed is your main until you have finished their story, so make sure that you really, really love them. Other than that there aren't any choices that can't be fixed if you change your mind. Stats can be manipulated and enhanced through armour, weapons and jewellery (temporarily) and nuts (permanently). All equipment can be optimised by pressing a button, except for the jewellery, which you should review and change before a fight if you are having trouble. Getting the old gang back together is what I would regard as the first objective, but don't expect them to actually talk to one another until you've hit the second chapter (I know this has irritated some people). Oh, and the pretty landscape can be quite obscure when you are looking for a path, but you'll get used to that soon. Also locations only show up on your map once you've entered them, so make sure that you briefly pop in and out of every newly discovered dungeon, even if it's well beyond your level. There's a save point at every entrance, but you don't even have to save, just to have been inside. Finally, you will sporadically encounter a Cait (later upgraded to Cultured Cait and Chubby Cait) among the random enemies. Defeating them is tricky, but if you succeed you'll get extra rewards. The best way is to hit them early on with a strong elemental attack, which is counter-intuitive as they are never weak to such attacks. The day will come when you will find this gibberish useful.

Don't get me started on the Passport Offence Office. What do you want a passport for? ID for Job Interviews and just about everything else these days. Also, it would've helped in the hunt for the fugitive known as 'Scubar' or 'Escubar' as he's known to the FBI.
