Sorry to hear about the dog, Amipal. Poor little things, when the time comes one's got to make the right decision. This afternoon the cat is going to the vet to have another blood test. The vet has also in the past uttered the dreaded t-word - termination - but we fight the good fight. If she wouldn't enjoy life it would be different, but she does.
Games: I used H'aanit to beat up the villager. Took a while, but I now have a second new and Improved Eagle Bow. I've also unlocked the Sorcerer job.
TV: finished ABC Murders. Yes, JM murdered the Belgian accent, as Private Eye jokes, but great performances.

I've just had a tradesman in the house - a painter - and inevitably I got very flustered. I did not use the words 'mate' or 'pal', but at one point I heard myself explaining in confused manner what I meant by the word 'white' when he asked what colour I wanted on the ceiling. He did a good job of keeping a poker face. The big problem is that the proper football is on winter break, so I couldn't ask if he;d seen Dundee's ludicrous display the other night.
Friday question: how late in January is it proper to go before you stop wishing people happy new year when you haven;t seen them since December? And after that, what's the cutoff for making a half-hearted joke about whether or not it's too late to wish people happy new year? In other words, when can we just take it for granted that 2018 has definitively fucked off?

Anyone doing it past the first week should be on a list somewhere. |
