Cobblers, Crank
I hate to break it to you but I doubt that this place has the readership numbers for you to benefit from the shameless promotion of your respective products.
In other words I don't think you're in line fro any promotional freebies just by mentioning them here.
But just in case they're reading this, I am inordinately fond of Malfy Gin (both Con Niranja and Con Limone)

BabyCorrect you won't be dropping any music information from the CD. I use Exact Audio Copy to make lossless FLACs. The software and hardware you use to play it back also makes a big difference to the sound you get. This is where the Brennan, being a dedicated music player should win out over the PC CrankI quite like the look of Naim Unity stuff. If you are ever looking to get me a gift... It depends, as you say, on the set up of the PC sound/graphics deliveries ... the sound card is a Asus Xonar D2X linked via SP/DIF to my Denon CEOL which in turn drives a pair of Mission LX2s; my rig is silent with 4 x 120mm fans + 1 x 250mm fan... But thanks for the Exact Audio Copy tip; I've been ripping via WMP...

Yeah EAC is the bomb. Especially for scratched cd's. Not that I'm suggesting you* don't look after your cd's.
*I know you don't.

Rip CDs straight to 16 bit WAV or AIFF. 50Mb per track? Bonza.

Did anyone else have a mini disk player in the late 90’s/ early 00’s? I had a couple and my current CD player still has the infrared signal coming out the back to link up to a recordable mini disk player.

I had a minidisc player. I've still got it somewhere. Could you actually buy music on minidisc? Or was it all just recorded from cd?

There is a portable minidisc in the attic. Doesn't hold a charge though. You can get spare batteries on eBay. Just not got round to it. Why are we holding onto it you ask?

I used to have the portal recorder. I still do I think. Used to link it to my Sony CD-changer with an optical cable and record compilations. Would then play them from the MiniDisc head unit in my car.

You could buy music on mini disk, but I think most people recorded their own on to blank mini CD's. Mini CDs were pretty cool, particularly when GameCube came out but mp3 murdered it to death.
