I had a dream last night with Michael Caine (circa 1976) in it. We were planning a holiday in Spain. We were discussing whether to go to Madrid or Pamplona. He then revealed that he was gay. I also remember burning my favourite coat with a cigarette by accident. Do I need help? Sounds like you have Essex syndrome. Essex people ( like myself ) like to think we're cheeky cockney hard cases and cutting edge (neo-modernist) but realise that to evolve we need to show a softer side. so by discussing trendy hols in Europe and stating some level of diversity whilst still giving it the Michael Caine treatment, you totally fail and 'burn your favourite coat' socially. I'm stuck at home despite the gorgeous weather outside. Last night the Preferred Mammal fell and couldn't get up again (he has limited mobility due to muscle deterioration in his legs). After a 20 minute struggle we somehow managed to get him into bed, but because he was aching all over he didn't get much sleep. He's sleeping now, and I'm just on standby to make sure he has help when he needs to get to the bathroom. This is not how I had envisaged the day, but it could be worse. I could be trying to conduct an interview with someone who will try and punch the biggest guy in the room over the phone.
