I'm watching The Martian on Channel 4, and simultaneously spoiling it for myself by reading THIS. * 'Cos that's how I roll. * Obviously I spotted the following myself: Stupid Watney. Stupid NASA.

Well, I have to say that O'Shio was amazing. I had the bulgogi, which is marinated beef served on a hot plate. Simply amazing, particularly with the kimchi side.
I also consumed a lot of Asahi, and then some ale in a pub afterwards.
I am feeling more than okay.

Come on, Watney, this is basic. I think if he'd tried to use BASIC he'd be in a shitload more trouble

Hi
Games - I've just finished Bioshock (for the second time). I saved all the creepy children, again. I am now starting Bioshock 2 (for the first time).
OTTM - I'm tired. Today, on my day off, I drove one passenger to gymnastics club. Another passenger to dancing club. Then both of these passengers, plus A.N.other to a trampolining centre, then a certain pizza place, where Jabba might eat . Total taxi, fare £0.00. Total outlay £more.
Snow forecast round these parts. A 'Day after tomorrow' scenario would be most welcome.

I've been at the rugby. The lads chucked the ball around a bit and a lot of booze was consumed. I also sat in a taxi in the same seat that Luis Figo occupied a couple of weeks ago, according to the driver.

Noobox: I've paused the game because my comments about the delay in the summary may have caused the 3 missing orderers to believe the game would be paused until that summary was published OR that "noProcess:Sat" means an extra day is added to the phase - it isn't: the clock ticking down to the deadline on the top right of the title don't lie... I will restart the clock in the morning.
Top tip: always put a provisional set of orders in. Just don't press the Ready button - you can check the effect of your orders by pclicking on "Preview"

My feeling more than okay was short-lived - the boy had a very disrupted night's sleep.
I went to bed at midnight, and then was up at five AM.
It's going to be a looong day. Where's the coffee?

Noobox - Autumn '01; Turkish Pasha falls for the Empress, Tsar tsulks; Cornetto King grabs the Pie as French matelots take on the Basques. The Pasha's pash pushes him to help her to Rum (has he confused Ha-Rum, with Harem?). England paints Scandinavia pink, whilst the Kaiser's troops shiver outside the gates of Moscow err Warsaw whilst the trenches are dug twixt France and Germany ...A more interesting season with all units doing something sensible except for our stalwart Roman ice cream salesman... On with the motley (and there's no lack of that).. Austria: First of all, top negotiating by tenthenemy , Venice vacated, Germany attacking Warsaw. And well deduced that a Russian move Gal-Vie was very unlikely. Our tinfoil milliner took a big risk last move, in negotiating the support into Rum from Turkey and trusting it would be delivered - I'd've moved Bud-Ser, but I'm not the Empress of Assassins. Now Austria owes Turkey a favour. We'll see what the builds are, but both countries need to consider their areas of expansion (It goes without saying that it will be easier for both our improbable lovebirds if they can agree different areas of expansion. Turkey: see also Austria's comments. After the balls out anti-Russian opening, Shenguin would certainly want the Empress both on his side and actually moving! But the risk of supporting Bud-Rum was if it didn't happen all Turkey's unite would stay in their Spring positons. Oh. They did! Oops. We now see what we hope Pasha Shenguin sees; that Arm sup F BLA-Sev is much better. The Arm is what I call a Golden support - it can't be broken. And letting the Tsar into the Black isn't a problem if you take both Bul and Sev. Russia: RollingEscargot either didn't write any begging letters or they weren't very convincing. And in spite of making a decent tactical ploy with breaking the BLACK support, the same effect was to be had with Ukr support Rum-Sev, or Ukr support Rum; and safer because Ukr was ... wait for it ... Golden! - it can't be broken. Russia should've pointed out to Germany the foolishness of moving a single unit in an uncoordinated attack' should still do so. Oop North, whatever happens, unless he can get the Kaiser to compound his errors by adding England to his problems by attacking Denmark, then competent play by England will see not only Sweden lost, but a bunch of British tourists roaming the Winter Palace in St Pete's... Dear Tsar you definitely need to hone your letter writing skills. As for builds, well, I'd be tempted to write the N off, but there's no Get Out of Jail Free card in your build positions ... Italy: The Cornetto king... the move to Pie (yes please, with cream...) seems one with crankcaller 's food fascination. And whilst the Fleet move to Tunis was sensible I can't help suspecting that the Italian admiral misread Tunis as Tuna. Given the Turkish stance towards Russia, Italy could have played a more decisive and coordinated set of moves with F ION-Gre, Ven-Tyr, Rom-Ven - this would have set up Austria for a very unhappy 1902. We await with some interest the final destination of those units and whether the Roman legion puts down its Cornettos and grasps their Gladioli (note to self: check spelling). England: A rare 2 builds for @bloggiesmalla after a perfect Autumn set of moves - 1902 will be interesting - the two builds give Her Maj the choice of joining France in the attack on the Kaiser as well as hunting down the pesky Russkies... or even a bit of naughty brie and baguette shopping. France: I'm not going to rehash my comments about the strategic weakness of Felice Landry 's opening moves (much), except to say it is now obvious that that Fleet is stuck in Iberia. And consider Tun-WMS... um. Spain's N Coast is about the worst place that Fleet could have moved to and still take an Iberian centre. Consider if that Fleet were in Portugal; next move it could move to Spa(sc) - if Cranky moves to WMS, it could've suppressed the Catalonian Separatists and taken the centre, laughing at Italian ambitions for its F WMS... But in Spain it has to move to Portugal to take the second Iberian centre and with an Italian Fleet in WMS however you slice it, France then has a nasty guess as to whether to take Portugal and risk WMS-Spa(sc); or to move into Spa(sc) and risk Italy NOT moving WMS-Spa(sc) which means Portuguese neutrality is assured for 1902. One last strategic point - it is an absolute priority to keep Italy out of MAO, which borders 3 centres of vital importance to France not withstanding a frowny Bloggie because it's adjacent to his likely defenceless back door IRI next Liverpool. What to build? Well the summat in Marseilles, if it's a Fleet commits to a hostile posture vs Italy and an Army trusts Italy to live up to his protestations of innocence and move out of Pie. The second build brings into play my comments about M hrsAO I'd point out to England the need to block MAO and build F Bre/A Mar... or the riskier A Par/F Mar... yer pays yer money. Germany: One build :/ - it MUST be A Kie. mlu035rsc has to drag A Sil back from the Russian adventure with loads of grovelling to the Tsar... the Western front is much trickier but not impossible. But before we depart 1901, consider if you'd taken Warsaw - you would have terminally weakened Russia whose enemy is England, who will have to move that stack of units somewhere after cleaning up the Scandinavian centres and StP... AND there is no A next to War to support ... For now I am boogered - 7.5 hrs. - a lot of it overnight ... I'm going back to sleep. Sorry for any typos

I’m in Birmingham, it’s less apocalyptic than I would have expected, the locals aren’t openly hostile or deranged and there is running water and electricity. Heading back inside the M25 safe zone soon though.
Games - been watching some Sekiro, looks top banana.

Plymouth News Wire.
There was a head-on car crash outside my country residence this morning @ 6.40 a.m.
Two 'yoofs' in the offending vehicle* legged it. Road closed, police and ambulance etc.
*How did I establish it was the offending vehicle?, I hear you ask. Well, it was on the wrong side of the road. Case closed.

If anyone has a method of contacting @bloggiesmalla or mlu035rsc outside this place or the Noobox game, can you use it to let them know that if they don't get orders in by 3.30 pm they will get zero builds this year. And they will be moved down my shit list towards the poo pit where Bink splashes about. By express delivery ... Time for me to play some of my own damned games...

I woke up to lots of snow this morning, although the sun and rain have now mostly eradicated it. Mostly.
Watching The Death of Stalin, it's pretty fantastic so far with Palin stealing the show.

Morning.
Back to the regular swim session followed by ten minutes in the sauna. Then it’s a rye loaf from the farmers market, back home for coffee and toast.
I need a new lawnmower - my last one melted, although I did get eight years out of it. Feel I should up my mowing game. Got a 25m lawn, so a ride on is out of the question.
I’m also a little wary of a petrol motor.
